To ask about self publishing

Can someone explain to me as if I’m a child, how to go about this?
I’ve got myself confused with self publishing and getting the book printed etc.
Also how do I go about owning rights etc etc etc
I’d be so grateful if anyone can explain things step by step.
Thanks!!

Go onto the Kindle direct publishing site. (It's basically how you publish and sell through Amazon) It's really easy to follow with everything you need on how to publish. Lots of self published authors sell more than published ones! But you shouldn't be in it for the money.
Have you written your book already?

I should have said- it’s a children’s book with pictures- a friend is illustrating it for me. It’s a short book.

You might get more responses getting this moved to Creative Writing

You already own the rights to anything you produce. Kindle direct it a good one or Troubador Publishing for self publishing your work.

Ah right- thanks- so do I just put the copyright symbol next to my work?
Sorry if that’s a silly question!
