because cow was in capital letters I thought you had a real live cow living next to you - the type that goes moo

anyway - yes she is obvisouly as mad as a box of frogs. Ignore her.

Tell her to come on Mumsnet and start a stupid thread about how living on benefits is the life of Riley and how she wishes her children had been born with heart defects so that she could live it up on the state and then move to the seafront.

No YANBU she is obviously thick and cruel. There's a lot of it about.

starcream, one of the ladies round the corner from me told me i was really lucky to have a bungalow as she doesnt like going up stairs. they have no mobility issues at all, and i felt like screaming at her. i would've killed to have a home with stairs for years, (dh had serious heart condition, is now post-transplant).

She needs a slap.

You have however spurred me to start a thread about my own next door neighbour....watch this space.

some people just think that it's ok to say things that they feel deep down to peoples' faces - however if it had been a racial slur or relgious slur then you'd be able to sue no problem - instead you're supposed to just ignore nasty ignorant people like that. There's no doubt that there are some people who live the life of riley on benefits (because to work would mean bugger all difference in income and just a harder life in general so what's the point??) but there are other people in genuine need of help from the government who simply don't get enough. Heartless though this comment was I woud try and take it on the chin and then try and avoid her as much as possible. It's not a nice situation for you at all and yanbu
