Question didn’t seem to fit in any topic so have posted here for traffic.
I work two days a week as a teacher, don’t even earn enough to pay tax. 3yo due to start nursery in September and just had all her forms through. It will cost at least £50 a week for the half day (5 hours) plus extra half hour in the mornings for the half day we will have to pay for if we are only entitled to the 15 hours universal funding.
Last tax year DH netted in at around £97k pre-tax (after pension allowance etc) so would have been eligible for 30 hours, but he has had a small pay rise and his income varies so we have no way of knowing if he will top £100k until he actually does.
If I were to claim 30 hours funded as it asks if you EXPECT to earn above but then he does hit the threshold what would happen? Would we get a massive childcare bill/be expected to pay the extra hours back?
Thank you
