Just that really. Once upon a time a new housing estate would be built, and then it would be adopted by the council and you’d pay the council tax for the maintenance and upkeep of the road and surrounds and services.
Now, the council refuses to adopt the road, it goes to a management company and the homes have to pay a management company on an ongoing basis. But they are also paying council tax. I am not objecting to paying council tax, when certain services are being provided- but others most certainly aren’t. So is it fair that someone living in a 1980s house is paying the same tax as someone in a new build, but also having their road and surrounding areas looked after as part of that- when a new build doesn’t.
