Starmer surprised

At the state of finances and the state of the prisons.

Has labour not been a very effective opposition asking difficult questions to government ministers across the spectrum of ministries?

Nothing should be a surprise to a good opposition who have clearly been leading in the polls.

That and they still haven't publicly declared they fully know what a woman is.

OP posts:

Of course things will be a suprise until they were in power they weren’t going to have full access to everything.

LadyKenya · 11/07/2024 18:30

What Sirzy said, did you not know that OP?

5128gap · 11/07/2024 18:31

The quality of information you get from asking a question relies heavily on the honesty and accuracy of the answer.

dizzydizzydizzy · 11/07/2024 18:32

Agree with PPs.

Whenwillitgetwarm · 11/07/2024 18:33

It’s over. Your culture war bollocks is over. We’ve pivoted to serious statesmen, not the busted up clown car that just left. Nobody’s interested anymore.

Nothing should be a surprise to him. It's not a surprise to any of us!

iamtheblcksheep · 11/07/2024 18:33

It’s the beginning of the backtrack. I hope you’ve had the common sense to hide your wealth like the rest of us that saw this coming.

Starmer is in the new house and finding massive dust balls and huge spiders under the bed that nobody wanted to deal with.

Bloody hell when will you lot actually watch/read what he actually said, not what the gossip circle on Mumsnet told you he said?

rwalker · 11/07/2024 18:36

Of course they knew they seem to have plenty of information for the constant stream of criticism

where as now it’s down to for them to sort out there all Ohh it’s not our fault

expect this to be a common recurring theme

it’s a very easy fix where they can push it through and blame someone else

Aging prawns in the curtain rails, dead pigeons in the water tanks and a huge turd in every toilet.

I don’t envy his position…

ApolloandDaphne · 11/07/2024 18:40

I imagine it's a bit like when you buy a house. You view it a few times, look at the pictures, get the survey and pay a shed load of money. Then you get in the house and with all the furniture out you can see where the kitchen drawers are wonky, the shower doesn't work and it smells kinda funky. So you then have the hard work of forming it into the house you envisioned it to be.

Yep, send your wealth off shore. Don't for god sake pay taxes towards good infrastructure or services. If you've got money you can go private for anything so why should we give a flying fuck about children's health, dentistry, potholes, policing, the NHS, mental health or education.

Part of the problem is that those who do have wealth simply aren't prepared to pay their dues to uplift public services such as NHS, education, etc. My experience is that those who have least can be very generous and give what they can to whatever cause - probably because they know what it'd like to go without!

What wealth? I wish I had wealth to hide.

Scautish · 11/07/2024 18:48

these threads are absolutely tedious and people need to move on and accept.

im just relieved we have a grown up in charge now and am feeling ever so slightly optimistic

the wealthy snide-hiders are really pathetic.

WrittenInTheSand · 11/07/2024 18:48

They're preparing the public for not much changing.

They’ve been in power less than a week. Of course nothing is their fault yet.

We don't know what he has found out, it might be worse than we can even imagine.
