Absolutely fed up of people thinking they can have a loud conversation at 6am outside my house waking me and my children up. Happy Tuesday everyone! 🤯

Were they cyclists? Where I live, the cyclists love to shout their conversations - and can be heard for miles around Confused

GreenBag53 · 09/07/2024 07:27

Same here, dog walkers.

Setyoufree · 09/07/2024 07:27

Were they being loud or just talking and the surroundings are more quiet?

earlymorningcurlewcall · 09/07/2024 07:27

YANBU! This happens to me and we live in a very quiet small town. It's especially bad in summer when everyone's windows are open.

Punkrockprincess · 09/07/2024 07:28

Pre filled water gun ought to solve the problem

HighlandCowbag · 09/07/2024 07:29

They park up outside my house on a weekend at a similar time on a weekend. Clatter around unloading bikes and then go cycling for a few hours.

I have shouted at them twice. On one occasion they looked sheepish. The second time (different people) I got dogs abuse. I then complained to the local sports club, whose tops they were wearing, where I am also a member and it seems to have stopped.

I think people are ignorant and don't realise how invasive it is, especially in summer when people have windows open. I'd bob my head out and ask them to be quiet.

Same here, loads of contractors in local accommodation, start at 5am shouting to each other and seemingly slamming every van door countless times !!!... and we won't mention the litter they empty out of their vans onto the pavement.

Iheartmysmart · 09/07/2024 07:48

I feel your pain. There’s a woman who walks past my flat every morning on the way to the bus stop, bellowing in her phone at 6am. That’s then followed by the most flat footed runner ever who makes a right racket. Then the two mega reactive dogs opposite get taken out and they bark continuously at everything and anything.

Sunday’s are particularly special as I then get the local cycling club meet up in the car park opposite. They start arriving about 6.30 and have the same conversation on repeat every time a new person shows up. One day I’m going to drive to the cafe they stop at and run over all their bikes.

Inconsiderate arseholes the lot of them.,

Summerflames · 09/07/2024 07:50

I'm getting second hand rage on your behalf OP. I hate this

Slalomsfathoms · 11/07/2024 18:59

They were most definitely loud and dog walkers, stood at the end of my drive for about 10 minutes.

Summerflames, that has made me laugh! I am feeling less angry today and it is lovely to have some positive replies!😀

Do not come and live in Spain.

There is one noise level of conversation in my area and that is screaming. Always starts at 6am.

FreshAirForwards · 11/07/2024 19:09

Every. Single. Day.
My neighbour warms up his loud works van outside my bedroom window at 4:15am and proceeds to load all manner of equipment into it, slamming the door each time. I am then treated to his colleague hailing him with a hearty “sorry I’m late mate overslept/couldn’t find my key/hat/shoes” at the top of his lungs as he crosses the street to hop in for their 4:30am departure.
Lovely bloke in all ways and an excellent neighbour. Clearly hardworking etc. However, his racket is not the dawn chorus I dreamt of when buying the house 😂

ghostyslovesheets · 11/07/2024 19:11

I feel your pain - I always sleep with the window open and we have the joy of the 6am very very loud dog walking couple - god they really irritate me - now like talking - one of them shout talks - oh I get so pissed off.

MessageOnAWall · 11/07/2024 23:56

Where I live, the properties don't have front gardens, just a narrow strip of grass. So you're a metre from the pavement in the front bedroom (flats).

People walk along shouting late and early. Often shouting into phones. Occasionally gathering in a group. Just a complete lack of awareness that other people exist and are trying to sleep!

I have a public path around two sides of my house that is a dog walkers paradise! I often hear ‘Oreo!’ Shouted a full volume at about 5am, then barking as they meet ‘George’ and the owner, both dogs greeting each other with non stop barking as the owners have a chat! The dog poo bin is also on this path, clearly it is where they meet each morning! I am so tempted to write a message on the bin along the lines of ‘shut the f * up Oreo and George!’

Ivyrosecrayon · 12/07/2024 00:15

People can be so thoughtless.
I work nights so I get the worst humanity has to offer lol...
People having arguments literally stood below my window... like can you not argue somewhere else wtf?? They think coz it's daytime they can just stand right next to someone's window and shout...
And people who don't stop their kids screaming in residential areas.. (I'm not talking about crying babies obviously because people can't control that) I always remind my own kids not to scream and shout directly next to open windows or when walking down streets where people live. Especially in the evening when people are trying to relax.

Yes! Do it.
You never know, they might be mortified when they realise how much disturbance they have csused

mikado1 · 12/07/2024 00:19

Every 'morning" between 3 and 4am, the teenage daughter next door, who I think must work in a night club or hotel, gets dropped home and shouts 'Thanks, bye' as loud as can be. Shut the fuck up please!! It wakes me and I lie there for an hour or more trying to get back to sleep 😴 😠 Can't understand how her parents haven't told her to be quiet!!

Ivyrosecrayon · 12/07/2024 00:19

And people calling their pets ffs...
We used to live next to a couple who'd be out at 5am shouting 'Biscuit, biscuit!!' For their damn cat.. then they'd stand having a discussion about the cat who never came when they called it..
And this was a terrace with no double glazing.. cul de sac.. so it was literally like they were stood right next to you in bed.. thats how it sounded.
They also used to do gardening at about 6am on a Sunday morning and they'd chat and have the radio on and stuff...
People complain about kids usually but I'd take kids playing over this fkn old couple and their noise any day of the week.
I'd just had a baby at the time and it was them keeing me awake not the baby!!
I still hate them and it's 10 years since we lived there lmao!!

Remaker · 12/07/2024 00:22

We used to live opposite a pub that was open until the early hours. The number of couples that split up right outside our front fence - gah! Was so tempted to open the door and yell ‘he doesn’t love you any more, just accept it and bloody go home!’
