Afraid I won’t wake up

Stupidly today I did a deep clean of my kitchen - used an entire bottle of bleach. The fumes were getting to me - eyes watering, nose running etc and I just soldiered through. God knows why I didn’t crack a window.

Anyway, I now keeping coughing up phlegm and when I take take a deep breath there is a rasping sound - like when you have a chest infection.

Have I caused permanent damage does anyone know? My mum once told me this horror story of a teen who had inhaled deodorant and never woke up. So feeling paranoid.

I finished cleaning at 5pm. Have been outside in the fresh air since.

Any help would be appreciated.’

Another thing about putting bleach in an oven is, what happens to the bleach at high temperatures when you turn on the oven? What noxious fumes and chemicals will be released, potentially even more hazardous than when cold? and will they have any impact on the food you cook?

If you are still feeling ropey then get to the Drs, A&E or chemist for checks and/or advice.

And for goodness sake let us know how you are.

I’m touched by your concern and everyone else’s on this thread.

I’m still alive. Coughing up but it has settled I would say. I was uncomfortable sleeping at night so got up and tidied my living room. No idea where this cleaning bug has come from. The.n went back to sleep for a doze (day off).

Thanks all. Will never use bleach on my oven again.
