Channel 4 should sue Farage over his public claim that they hired an undercover actor to expose racism in Reform

I was disgusted by Farage’s response to Channel 4’s exposing of the racist Reform campaigner.

Rather than just own it, Farage straight away went off on a deflection about this vile racist being some form of actor hired by Channel 4.

Seeiously?! How much would Channel 4 need to pay someone to ‘act’ like that? The man’s face was on camera - using the P word and advocating the army shooting effing migrants from the Dover cliffs.

Who in their right mind would ‘act’ that for a national news channel? He will now probably be prosecuted for hate speech. At the very least, nobody will ever employ him or associate with him going forwards.

How dare Farage try to deflect this vile racism within his ‘party’ by insinuating that Channel 4 are stitching him up.

RTher then focusing in the distress caused to millions in this country who have been the victim of racist slurs in their lifetimes - Farage just makes it all about himself.

Also, Farage - if you think really think that, why are you not making a big display of taking legal action against the journalist?

Reform won’t take action because they know full well what they are and that their too many of their campaigners are low-life scum like this. All that happened in this case was the mask slipped for one of them.

The man himself has even said he was not hired by Channel 4. But apparently he must have been, because Nigel says so.

Although I believe his first defence was that this is how normal everyday people speak. They discovered they could try the paid actor line later.

I think the ‘this is how people speak down the pub’ line was tried in response to another Reform candidate a few days before announcing that the U.K. should have cooperated more with the Nazis. Apparently, Nigel just hadn’t had time to check him out an oh well, never mind, this is how people talk in the pub.

If Channel 4 did successfully sue, he'd just do what Trump does and fundraise off of it..."the radical left are trying to silence me! Please donate so that I can continue to fight for you!"

He was also seen, I think, at the same place as Farage celebrating after the election? Farage said it was nothing to do with him, he just happened to be there…

I was surprised more wasn't made of it. When it first came out I thought either he would be sued for libel or Channel 4 would be investigated over illegal practices.

He appeared on channel 4 productions before and only stated he was an actor on his profile... He has a right to make that comment...

Channel 4 are trash anyway. I remember when the C4 presenter Jodie Smith made false accusations about a group of Muslims manhandling her out of a mosque when only CCTV proved she was lying...

They're just as racist as farage. Mind you! Most British media is!

I think that because C4 are a company they would have to show serious financial loss to successfully sue for defamation.

It was Cathy Newman who made the false accusation- certainly an example of Islamaphobia in that she was implying it was because she's a woman that she wasn't allowed in. She in fact went to the wrong place and yes cctv showed her walking out alone!
