Why does his Google history show he was at an industrial estate at night

Last night I was on Dh’s phone-not snooping…initially at least. I was turning lullaby music off that he and our dc had fallen asleep to.
It showed the travel history of where he’d been/been driving etc. I just thought it was quite interesting at first, don’t think I have it on my phone or if I do, no idea how to access it! I started looking and it was all pretty boring-travel to work, certain shops, cafes etc, a friends house. One entry from last Sunday shows him going out in the evening driving for 30 minutes, it says here no location/location not shown. Then from around 10.30-11.30 pm, it shows a location and when I looked at it, it’s an industrial estate. This is really strange isn’t it?! Making me so paranoid, what would you make of it?

Drive to said estate at same time, same day and see what’s going on. I’d be thinking hook up, prostitute or dogging but I’m a suspicious type. If it was my DP he’d be doing something boring like topping up radiator water in car.

How do you know? Have you investigated all of us?

If things are chaotic/noisy at home and I just want a bit of time where I can guarantee not getting hassled I sometimes go for a drive, buy a coffee or a snack, and sit in the car listening to an audiobook or reading. And yes, sometimes that does include parking up somewhere totally random for a bit, even at night.

I know others who do the same. It's the equivalent of taking the dog out for an impromptu walk... Except for people who don't have dogs (or when it's raining).

So basically, there's likely an entirely innocent explanation.

As for 'missing travel' - that's entirely meaningless. Google Maps shows this all the time on my timeline. It just means your phone couldn't work out where you are for a period of time (usually because of crap signal). I'd read absolutely nothing into that.

No sooner thought than translated into a faintly aggressive post of dubious relevance? There are >70 year old men everywhere on the Internet.

Maybe many of them, unlike me, are concealing their status?

For people saying Google Maps isn't accurate, the issue is that it's been accurate all the rest of the time on her husband's phone.

And 99% of the time it’s accurate for me too. But on a rare occasion it’s been 0.5 a mile off!

I don't have an issue with 70 year old men on here, as long as they don't get belligerent with other posters.

If it were me id follow him.
Let him think you've fell asleep then drive out.

Op has a newborn so can't follow him.

Op has a newborn so can't follow him.

Put it in its car seat or ask a friend/neighbour to pop round for an hour?

So many people seem to do this. They should get the Ferber sleep training book and reclaim their evenings.

Yes it’s so weird. Why would
you accept this? It’s not the point of the thread no but if your relationship is in trouble - never spending the evening together and taking it in turns to lie in your DD’s bed for hours may well be the reason. Sort it out.

@Whothefuckdoesthat Its the first time I looked at it, haven’t looked before as didn’t realise it came up or so detailed

Is it his phone location or the vehicle app? Are there other ‘missing’ trips on there?

Could be totally innocent or super dodgy (or doggy..!)

I've surmised from this thread that:
1 - Posters think stalking is perfectly acceptable and not creepy in the slightest
2 - there's a secret Mumsnet Furry community
3 - some of you spend far too much time listening to true crime podcasts
4 - some of you know far too much about prostitution for it not to be insider knowledge
5 - you're all batshit crazy

He doesn’t have Pokémon Go, he’s 45 😬
Realy don’t want to drive there at that time at night, but feel I need to, where would I say I was going though? Considering I rarely ever go out in the evenings, only occasional girls nights, I’d never venture out at 10.30 on my own, it will seem very strange

Don't make assumptions based on age - after all, you're the one worried that you don't really know him and what he's doing. I'm 50 and play Pokemon whilst walking the dog. Beats a bland exercise tracker.

Sunshineonararainydayyy · 07/07/2024 15:07

Sorry but like pps I think it will be a prostitute. Watched 24hrs in police custody and there was a prostitute in the episode that was parked up in a caravan on an industrial estate. The man was out within 5mins though.

Just thinking of the poor woman whose husband tried to murder her by rigging her parachute, she had no idea what he was up to (affairs, sex clubs etc)

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 07/07/2024 15:21

Funny you should say this, @Nachosanddips, but according to Google's location finder, I am writing this from a suburb of a city 60km away from where I actually am physically. We live in the near Middle East and we and our friends often find that Google location finder tells us we are in a completely different country from where we live. In the past week, much to our surprise, a few of us have shown as being in the Lebanon, at Beirut International Airport (it seems to have been the same day that we've dropped someone off at our local airport!). So I honestly wouldn't worry, I reckon it's just a google glitch.

Google timeline can be wrong. My last month's timeline shows me visiting an industrial estate in Birkenhead several times - and I haven't been to Birkenhead for 25 years at least.

Yes. Mine often says 'visited a restaurant' twice in the last month or whatever.

Sometimes I've not even driven past that spot.

Also if I divide distance driven by time I apparently drive at kerb-crawling speed.
