Do you wear your glasses outside or just around the house/indoors?

I split between wearing contact lenses when I go out anywhere and glasses round the house and in the garden.

If the light is at all bright I wear sunglasses with my contact lenses and for many years I've always got transition lenses in my glasses. It's just so important for your eye health to protect them from damage from sunlight. Helps to stop cataracts developing for one thing.

So if you wear your glasses out side at all and the extra cost of transition lenses isn't a problem for you then yes, I agree with your DH.

I don't get on with contacts, so I wear glasses full time. I've had transitions in the past, now have normal glasses and prescription sunglasses.

Pro's of transitions: no swapping glasses/forgetting to take sunglasses with you

Con's: over time they take longer to go back to clear. I got often frustrated going into a dim room from outside and standing there waiting for my glasses to adjust (my eyesight bad enough I'd fall down the stairs if I took them off!)

In the end what clinched it for me though was that I have a small head, and like delicate glasses. They weren't big enough to block light on really sunny days, so now I have small glasses and bigger sunglasses, and it suits me better

Thank you for this. I am worried about how long it will take for them to change back once I go back Indoors. I got the s range I think so hoping it isn't too long

I tried transition lenses and hated them. Our office has big windows so the lenses were permanently dark when I was there, and I hated seeing myself on video calls as it just looked like I was wearing sunglasses which isn’t very professional. Shame as they’re a great idea but I wanted them to only work going outside!

I've never actually had a problem with the lenses not changing back quickly enough when I go inside.
I know when the glasses are new at first they take a bit of time to darken when you go outside but the reaction becomes quicker after wearing them a few times.
