Sister using my address

Hi. My sister lives in America and comes back to UK every year for a week or 2. She has used my address on her UK driving licence. She asked permission and I said its fine but now I'm just wondering is this okay? Are there any repercussions of doing this that could affect me?

Unlikely. My license is still registered at my previous rental because I can’t change it online and our local PO is closed after I finish work. My car is registered at my current address and it’s not been a problem.

Are you going to be expected to monitor and manage her mail for her?

Do you claim single person Council Tax discount? I used to work in Council Tax and they do checks. You'd find it hard to prove this isn't her main residence (they don't care even if it isn't, if it gets extra on the bill they will fight you over it).

As long as you open her mail it will be fine.

I accidentally left my car registered at my last address. Unbeknownst, to me I got a ticket. I found out later when baliffs turned up to my new address. I tried to appeal but not informing DVLA of my change if address was my error and the court upheld the fine. It cost me over £400

Check it out because I think that you have to be a resident in the UK to hold a UK licence. Also not informing them of change of address can get a fine of up to £1k
