To think that pulling net curtains into the middle of the window and then tying them into a knot is never a good look?

My new neighbour keeps doing it, I want to knock on the door and ask her to come across to my side of the street and see if she thinks it looks nice.

and if you've filled your bowl up with washing up and then remember that you haven't yet washed your salad, you can just remove the bowl instead of draining the sink and starting again.

Oliveoil · 10/04/2008 14:57

we are common though naily

I have a matching drainer too!

PuhPeng · 10/04/2008 15:39

On our street there are an awful lot of ornaments pointing outwards, towards the street.

I know this was mentioned much further down but I don't feel it has been dealt with with sufficient scorn and contempt yet.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 10/04/2008 15:40

What about flower arrangements pointing outwards? Also Christmassy things such as little Nativity scenes or lovely silver reindeer with candles in their antlers? Are they ok?

VictorianSqualor · 10/04/2008 15:48

If we're talking ornaments what about the stained glass owl plates that are stuck to the windows with a sucker.
Tell me someone knows what I'm talking about please.

JeremyVile · 10/04/2008 15:52

I have a washing up bowl. It's practical, not a style statement.

DonDons · 10/04/2008 15:54

My MIL has a row of commerative mugs (eg royal weddings and similar crappage etc) including a branston pickle mug that DH bought on school trip when he was about 10 (he's 39 now) (all pointing outwards). Mind, she is a nut job.

She also has similar plates on the wall (but not on window VS - know what you mean though)

SheikYerbouti · 10/04/2008 16:00

One of my neighbours has ceramic pigs and ducks in their window and front garden.

I have another who has wind chimes (farking things - naff and irritating)

DonDons · 10/04/2008 16:00

oh bollocks thanks

SheikYerbouti · 10/04/2008 16:06

RustyBear · 10/04/2008 16:08

No suckers here VS (except the person who buys them) but is this the kind of thing you mean?

purplemoon · 10/04/2008 17:26

Ok, look, I just have to defend the washing up bowl usage as so many of you have ishoos with them.... ,

no defence for the stained glass items though I'm afraid lol
