Is this GP a bit over zealous?

I had some bloods done a year ago due to being tired all the time but they all came back normal so I just left it thinking if there was anything wrong it would show up in the bloods.

I've been back to the GP again today as still tired and fed up now. GP thinks I might have chronic fatigue syndrome and I'm a bit shocked. It seems quite a jump?

They're sending me for more bloods (a nice 2 week wait and 30 mile round trip for that joy thanks to the current state of the nhs) but the GP said they didn't think they would show anything.

I suppose I should be grateful they're taking it seriously and not fobbing me off. I think it's just taken me by surprise.

@FloofyBird worth getting a print out of your blood tests and seeing what that ferritin number is now. 19 last year isnt great. I got down to 11 at one point and was passing out and heartbeat became irregular. I know now mine needs to be at least above 30 to feel OK. Ask if they'll give you iron tablets or get some supplements and ask for a repeat test in 6 weeks ish. Many GPs don't think ferritin alone can make you feel rubbish as that is what the old guidelines said, that it was only anaemia that caused that but the NICE guidelines have been updated to reflect low ferritin itself causing issues.

Thanks. I'll keep those in mind when I get my results.

I am a GP - yours sounds excellent. He / she talked to you about how symptoms affecting your life and know about other previous illnesses which may help with diagnosis.
It’s my job to over zealous!
Wishing you the very best💐.
