AIBU to be annoyed at ex H not attending school events ?

Ex H has missed DS sports day and another event. DS is 9 and wants him there. I am angry because I know he can take a day off but chose not to. We have been split 3 years. He has good contact with DS but these events I feel he should attend.

DD's friend has a dad like this but he says he'll come and then doesn't. It's shit and sad, and I can see why you are annoyed.
I had an uninterested dad, I realised early on what he's like and as a result his has little relationship with me or my siblings. But are all.close to mum because she was the reliable one who was there always
Your DS will know soon enough what his dad is like unfortunately

Do you actually know how much annual leave he has left? Busy time at work etc. Sorry but sometimes kids have to learn that Mom and Dad cannot be at everything.

We don't know if the father says that he will attend and then doesn't.
