What have you got in your life worth more than £10 million?

On my way to the hospital this morning, if I had been given a choice between £10 million and a clear biopsy, I would have chosen the negative biopsy result, which I now have!

When I was in my 20s and told I was infertile, if I often thought if I was given the choice between £10 million and motherhood, I would chose motherhood, which I then got in my 30s, and still have (adult children now!)

So I have my family I thought I would never have, and i have decades left with them, rather than the few months I was warned might be all that was left.

I have a grand total of £20 million in my pocket this morning! (well, not in cash - but in value!)

What have you got worth more than gold? Lets have a happy thread xx

Congratulations on your result!

My partner and my DC. Nothing could be worth as much to me as they are. Finding my partner was like winning the lottery.

My sons and my husband.

My husband in particular has brought me more happiness than I could ever have wished for. We've had our ups and downs but I am never happier than when I am with him.

My dogs.

mightydolphin · 28/06/2024 13:19

That's wonderful news OP. Congratulations on the all clear!

I often think this way. My husband, my children, my health, mobility and any one of my family's future health (siblings, husband, parents, children) are all things that I would not trade for 10 million.

HellonHeels · 28/06/2024 13:20

Partner, sister, friends, cats ❤️

My creativity. A few years ago I had depression and couldn't think of any ideas at all, like a creative block, and I started praying it would come back because it was like losing a best friend

My dogs.

I know, right! pets can mean so much. Sometimes you just find a furry soul mate, and it is hard to explain to someone who has never had that. It is something that fits, and can't be made to happen with an animal that isn't quite compatible with you, no matter how lovely they are. Its a special bond. I have had more than 20 animals in my life, but only one true animal soul mate, and was lucky enough to enjoy her love for 14 years

My 3 children and my daughter and I surviving a house fire unscathed whilst I was pregnant with my 3rd

bushtailadventures · 28/06/2024 13:25

My adult dc, my dh, and my grandchildren (one here, one nearly here) They bring me more joy than I ever thought possible, wouldn't trade them for anything.

Congratulations on the excellent health news!

My dog has, in a way, made my life so much worse, but think I'd probably turn down the £10 million (as long as the offer didn't coincide with the dog letting me know we needed to go outside for a shit at 3am)

May I ask please Allthislovelygreen , did it come back naturally or did you do anything to make it come back, or did you just start "doing"?

arethereanyleftatall · 28/06/2024 13:29

Instant answer - my kids. No amount of money is worth more than them.

Isittimeformynapyet · 28/06/2024 13:32

So I had a pretty crap start to life. Not the worst but certainly not the best. If I could tell my 15 year old self to hang in there I would, because actually - although we all have bad days - my life is great now and I couldn't have imagined it back then. I wouldn't swap it for all the tea in China. And it is true a loving family and a roof over your head really is all you need. I wish everyone could have them.

Lovely idea for a thread!

PermanentTemporary · 28/06/2024 13:39

A generally functioning body. Tbh, being able to have regular poos isn't something I take for granted, I have occasional bouts of mild constipation and they're awful (I was going to say shit...)

Living in a country that doesn't have tanks on the street and - despite all the things like pot holes and sewage and train cancellations - is still a developed country with low crime rates.

neverbeenskiing · 28/06/2024 13:39

DH and our two children.

My DM, we had a somewhat volatile relationship when I was younger but now we've both mellowed and value each other hugely.

My work and the sense of pride, feeling of making a difference and continually learning and growing that it gives me.

QueenofTheBorg · 28/06/2024 13:41

Congratulations OP!

So many things:
My health
Lovely husband
Great children who are pretty happy
Some fantastic long standing friends
A job I like
Enough money
A house I love
The ability to sleep anywhere, pretty much, despite menopause
HRT!

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 28/06/2024 13:42

So many things.
My health, my children, my long-term friendships, my dog (although raise the offer a couple of million and you can have her), my writing...

I consider myself very very lucky indeed. Poor, but lucky...

PlantDoctor · 28/06/2024 13:42

Congratulations, OP! Both on the biopsy and the family you wanted :)

I'd have to say my family too. Cheesy but true! Other than that, I would say loving in Cornwall again. I lived away for many years for uni and jobs, but am very happy to back back here to raise my DD.

ExhaustedHousewife · 28/06/2024 13:43
