So many times I remember I need to send a message but it's a bit early.... then I get distracted and forget or do it late.

I always think at those times it would be good to be able to post date a message!

That would be really helpful, I like that. Maybe you could suggest it to them?

MaggieFS · 26/06/2024 08:40

I just send them. More fool any phone owner these days who does not use do not disturb at night.

I don't mean early in the day and I'm afraid of waking people, more that it's a premature message that I could easily forget.

Do you know how to do that?

Ah ok 😂

Then just set a reminder on your phone to send the message. I agree it would be useful but if you left the exact message as the reminder, you could copy and paste it rather than have to write it twice.

It’s a bit awkward though. If I get a WhatsApp message at 6am from someone in the same time zone, I will wonder why on earth they sent it to me then.

Is it? Friends and I message at all sorts of times, usually them sending a late one after I've gone to sleep and me replying early when I wake. Same with colleagues, (we're childminders) planning what we might do that day. I've never thought 'why on earth....?'

If it is with people you know well enough then fair enough. With other people (I’m thinking of school WhatsApp groups), before 7:30am or after 9:30pm is too early or late.

CruCru · 26/06/2024 19:04

I used to have a boss who had trouble sleeping so he would email me at 3am.

BeardedLodger · 29/06/2024 01:00

You can schedule text messages using the + sign next to your message if that helps...

I've written a small review on the playstore for the app, could do the same or if you're on iOS the app store?

greengreyblue · 09/05/2025 06:35

Set an alarm on phone and label it send WhatsApp.

Zanatdy · 09/05/2025 07:03

I set an alarm on my phone or mark it as unread so reminds me to reply later on.

I never knew that! Thank you for sharing! I just sent one... it's like magic! As a night owl, I spend my life sending emails for work late at night to land at 8am.

WhatsApp doesn't have a built-in feature for scheduling messages. For Scheduling I have being using Wappbiz from the last 3 months and having a good experience till now.

Renabrook · 13/05/2025 08:13

Like emails I send when I want to and recipients read when they want too

healthybychristmas · 13/05/2025 08:18

I send messages to myself on WhatsApp and start with the person's name and then forward them when it's a good time. They are all in one place then

Cosmicus · 16/01/2026 17:07

I’ve wished for that button on WhatsApp more times than I can count, especially for birthdays where I remember at 2am and then forget by morning. I ended up using ultramsg for some work bits, and the scheduling there spoiled me because it just quietly sends things when I tell it to. Makes WhatsApp feel a bit behind the times, so I don’t think you’re being unreasonable at all.

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 16/01/2026 17:49

Yes it would be good on WhatsApp as I quite often think of work things late at night but don't want to message my colleagues then. We use several work WhatsApp groups. I do frequently use it for emails though for work, and then schedule them to send 8am the following day when everyone starts arriving at work. I also wish I could get WhatsApp call notifications on my Apple Watch, the messages show as notifications but not calls.

blueshoes · 16/01/2026 17:57

OP, I agree. I often whatsapp people in another country in a different time zone. I have to set a timed reminder on outlook to ping them when they are awake. It is faffy. Whatsapp are missing a trick.
