Take your fxxking dog poo home

I’ve just run 5k. Bagged up dog poo everywhere. On pavements. Grass verges. Next to half empty dog poo bins. 3 on the pavement next to Sainsbury’s alone.

Bins everywhere that could be used but weren’t.

Obviously it isn’t MN users doing this, it never is 🤦🏻‍♀️.

If you’re bagging up the poo, take the bag 100 yards to a bin and use it, you lazy fekker.

They are dirty lazy fuckers

there are a few on here that will leave the bagged poo aside apparently hidden so it doesn’t spoil their walk and collect it on the way home 🙄😡 as if that’s ok

honestly I think the fines should be extremely high

Right, of course they will ...🙄

VivaVivaa · 26/06/2024 08:37

I hate this too and I agree it’s flipping everywhere. I wish people would just leave the poo unbagged if they don’t plan on properly disposing of it. At least it’ll eventually wash away/decompose. Bagging it up and dropping it adds more plastic litter to the environment and makes the poo hang around for longer.

Ginslings · 26/06/2024 08:38

I've caught people's attention before and told them in a friendly way, 'oh, I don't think you noticed but your dog just pood over there' or 'have you ran out of poo bags, here have one of mine' - I can usually find at least one in most of my coat pockets.

Not all dog owners are selfish arseholes, it's really frustrating that these lazy twats give us all a bad name.

VivaVivaa · 26/06/2024 08:39

And I agree that leaving a bag of poo to one side planning to get it en route home is just as bad. If you didn’t want your walk spoiled by a bag of dog poo then don’t get a dog!

NotSorry · 26/06/2024 08:53

We were in the New Forest a couple of weeks ago and the campsite was dogs must be on leads. As we drove out of the campsite there were dog owners with dogs off lead allowing their dogs into the fields where the ponies with their foals were 😡

Urgh, dog people are awful. Selfish on so many levels.

THANK YOU.

vodkaredbullgirl · 26/06/2024 08:58

As a dog owner I agree with you, always put it in the bin. Before anyone says I don't put it in anyone's bin.

LOL I also did a 5k run this morning, with my dog, and yes bagged the poo and put it in one of the bins in the park.

I agree there's no excuse, as long as you buy sturdy bags with handles then you can secure the poo well enough that you can carry it perfectly hygienically, I've even run with mine! In fact in the darker winter months I've even brandished the bag of poo to deter suspicious looking men who hove into view on the path in front of me. You might think twice about mugging if you think you're gonna get a face of dog shit 😂

What a great idea for personal safety!! I will be using this in future!🤣🤣🤣

It’s the sense of entitlement. I live near the sea and there are notices along the seafront saying that dogs are not allowed on the beach between May and September. They must be on lead on the prom all the time. So there are dogs on the beach and in the sea and along the prom not on leads. Why does your desire to walk your dog mean that you can ignore the regulations, please yourself and sod the folk who prefer not to have animals running around them or deal with their excrement.

Yes! DS used to be scared of dogs so we deliberately chose beaches where dogs aren't allowed only to find dogs running round on them.

And quite often if you say something to the owners, you get a mouthful of abuse...

Pepsipepsi · 26/06/2024 09:03

I met someone who admitted to doing this! She honestly thought covering it in a bag and leaving it like that was better than just leaving the poo where it lay. I was too flabbergasted to question her on why she thought biodegradable dog poo was worse than plastic staying there for evermore.

She told the story to me with shock, because someone actually confronted her to put it in the bin after bagging. She literally said "I thought bagging it was better than just leaving it". Yes but what about the last step of putting it in the damn bin so your dog doesn't inconvenience literally everyone else who will walk by later??

Counsellor of Bridgend area with your stupid gold mayor necklace thingy, know I will judge you and your stupidity for evermore. ☺

I find the abandoned bagged poo more offensive than just left poo (work that one out). I think it's because in my mind the bagged abandoners feel a moral superiority over the non baggers that they do not deserve. All in my head however.

Or maybe because the poo will biodegrade, the bag won’t?

Yes some people are 'awful' both dog and non-dog owners. but the non-dog owners don’t usually leave bags of crap behind

This.
We own a dog - not my personal choice- and I wouldn't dream of leaving a poo filled bag somewhere.
I also read that it's very dangerous for horses going by if they inadvertently swallow one that is left on a tree, so it's irresponsible to hang up even if you plan to return.

Not that I particularly like horses and feel most horse riders/ owners seem quite entitled as well.

Kpo58 · 26/06/2024 09:11

Why is the title regarding taking dog poo home and then you have written about people not putting it in the bins when out and about?

YABU if you expect us to take all dog poo home (if we come across a bin to put it in)

YANBU to expect people to put dog poo in nearby bins and not to leave bags on pavements/verges etc

No, they leave broken glass, fag butts, fag packets, crisp packets, plastic bags, vapes, cans, used condoms….where I live the general litter problem is much worse than the dog shit problem.

  1. Dog people
  2. Smokers
  3. Vapers
  4. Brexit voters
  5. Reform voters

not all, but generally horrifically selfish twats

migraineagain · 26/06/2024 09:30

I will never understand dog owners.
They never think their dog stinks news flash they do and your home stinks of dog too.
And picking up shit yuk bag on hand pick up fresh warm stinking dog shit.
I know it has to be picked up but I couldn't so never had a dog.
But owners that do have dogs but leave shit behind should pick it up.

vodkaredbullgirl · 26/06/2024 09:32

Not all of use are shitty dog owners.

Funnywonder · 26/06/2024 09:35

Our local Facebook community page used to be full of people complaining about dog poo, but they got so much abuse for 'moaning' that there are rarely any mentions now. Other people would be rolling their eyes and asking them if they have nothing better to do than complain about dog poo. Making fun of them and leaving poo emoji's and laughing emoji's. We had a bin nearby that was full up with litter and dog poo and people were leaving their poo bags beside it, rather than taking them home or finding another bin. It was like some sort of Tracey Emin art piece. Some people shouldn't be permitted to own dogs if they can't take full responsibility for what comes out of their arses.

Blandskog · 26/06/2024 09:41

I strongly believe before anyone can own a dog they should have to carry a bag of poo with them all day, everyday for a year.

Some of this will be from dog owners as well, the kind of person who leaves poo lying round is unlikely to bother about putting anything else in the bin.

DysonSphere · 26/06/2024 09:56

I'd personally rather the poo be in the air (a tree...pity the squirrels) than on the ground for someone to step on and explode out a superheated air constricted poo bag. But both are grim.

It's crazy.. our society has got to the stage where people are able to act selfishly because we (rightly, at times) fear the response when they are challenged on their selfishness.

I don't know about that in regards to dog poo. We have never as a nation been egalitarian about Dog poo. Not ever. This current phase is not a devolution. I remember the 70s and 80s. The streets were strewn with poo then. All shades of colours in decomposition until ultimately the white colour. If anything it's better now, as awful as it still is. I hear France is like it was in the 80s with regards to dog poo (although I have no proof of that!) so maybe we're good still in comparison to other countries in Europe?

I remember in primary school we were required to walk in pairs of twos holding hands during school trips. I developed a poo phobia as a child after stepping in dog poo and ruining my school shoes on repeated trips because I didn't have the ability to dodge.

There was also a very memorable occasion where I was sitting on the grass on a picnic blanket at our local community green, leaned back and put my physical bare hand in a massive clump of cold poo. Some selfish person had covered it with some strands of grass to conceal it. Fortunately I lived close by, I put an entire bottle of dettol over my hand but still couldn't bring myself to use it for 3 days!!!

Why people still do things like cover their dogs' poo with leaves or grass clumps is beyond me. Do they think it aids decomposition?🥴 Or does it make them feel less guilty about leaving it there? Newsflash, now the pedestrian cannot see it to avoid!
