On the news. With his stupid sticky up hair. Doing the Dr Who theme outside the Albert Hall. With an electric violin.

Come on, mate, get over yourself, take your PLO headscarf from round your boil-ridden neck, get yourself a Paul Smith jacket and GROW UP!

Or do I just need more sleep?

YANBU

He was too old for it in 1989 imo.

he is still a wuss stuck in a time warp.

SueBaroo · 09/04/2008 14:58

He Gary Rhodes with a violin, yes? YANBU

Monkeybird · 09/04/2008 15:29

Yes! I hate Gary Rhodes too. Were they separated at birth?

marina · 09/04/2008 15:35

You are so cruel monkeybird

BetteNoir · 09/04/2008 15:37

I agree.
ROFL at the Gary Rhodes twin idea.

Monkeybird · 09/04/2008 16:02

it's not just lookalikes - they both seem such tossers

OP posts:
smugmumofboys · 09/04/2008 16:11

Couldn't agree more!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 09/04/2008 16:13

He doesn't look like Gary Rhodes at all, they just have the same hairdresser.

waffletrees · 09/04/2008 16:49

YANBU - it is all getting a bit embarrassing!

Monkeybird · 09/04/2008 18:38

and Gary Rhodes can't cook. Give me Gordon anytime.

And I'm no classical muso but I imagine Nigel can't play the violin either. Or am I horribly mistaken?

His "4 seasons" was fantastic.

That was about 15-20 years ago, though.

moondog · 09/04/2008 19:48

Ah Monkey, never better said.
I agree wholeheartedly. He is an utter knob. He even shagged Mark E. Smith's bird to prove he was like rock 'n rooooollll maaaan.

Knob

Monkeybird · 09/04/2008 19:50

Ewwwww, now got images of Mark E Smith and Nigel Kennedy having a threesome with some manky bird in my head

OP posts:
moondog · 09/04/2008 19:51

It's a real pleasure.

Katisha · 09/04/2008 21:07

I am a classical muso and I would have to say that actually he CAN play the violin...

Ah, OK. Well then talent redeems him a bit. 51 though! FGS.

But Rhodes. Surely someone's not gonna tell me he actually can cook, now?

OP posts:
Kathyis6incheshigh · 09/04/2008 21:24

Well I hope he can cook, cos he sure as hell can't write cookery books

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 09/04/2008 21:27

He was at the Yehudi Menuhin school when YM still tutoring I think? And he played Carnegie Hall whilst still a teenager. So I don't think there's much doubt about the talent.

(But I remember him being rather well spoken back then too)!

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 09/04/2008 21:33

As for Rhodes, I've sat sadly staring at the menus in both the Greenhouse and at the Royal Festival Hall (he did the menu) and not wanted to eat any of it! I've avoided him like the plague ever since.

Elephantsbreath · 09/04/2008 22:55

I hear that Gary Rhodes likes to get his kit off when he's cooking to show off his muscles - ewww.

At least Nigel keeps his clothes on when he's playing his violin.

shreddies · 09/04/2008 22:58

I think he's good too, but I remember going to see him do some sort of gig sesh thingy when I was seventeen, which was erm quite some time ago. I've change my hairstyle several times since then.......
