Help setting up an email address

Can't believe I'm asking this - I'm of the tech savvy generation! - but I've been an idiot & clearly not researched this properly before diving in.

Bought a domain name on godaddy in order to create a professional email address, only now I've paid for the domain it seems I have to pay extra to create the email address...

I'm not going to do this, surely there is a free way to create an email address associated with my new domain. I already subscribe to MS365, I'm not going to buy it again.

Please can someone help this idiot who's apparently turned into a luddite overnight?!

Set up a Gmail address?

There isn't a free way to set up an email address connected to a domain name, you will have to pay for hosting it. I have my domain and email through Google. I pay £20 a year for the domain, and £4.79 a month for the email address (although I can have several emails address so "contactus@", "my name@", "complaints@" etc.

@DelilahBucket thanks for confirming, I'm annoyed at myself for not realising before that I'd have to pay twice

@DanielGault I already have Gmail, MS used to allow you to create an address @ xxxx But they stopped doing so before Christmas
