What the hell have I done to my toe- gross picture alert!

So I stubbed my toe last week. Had black nail varnish on so took it off this weekend and my toenail is yellow? Is it just from stubbing it? Do I need to see a doctor for this? What’s wrong with it?

I think it’s just discoloured from nail varnish. Will grow out.

You might’ve damaged the nail bed when you stubbed it, I’d keep the varnish off and keep an eye on it while it grows out.

Thanks. None of the others have gone yellow and I use this varnish regularly and have never had it before. I’m hoping it’s not a permanent new colour, definitely won’t be painting them for a while, how annoying with the nice weather!

This. This happened to me stayed yellowish its not properly attached to nail so now grows in a weird way.

Your nail has broken away from the nail bed. Happened to me once when I stubbed my toe. For me, the nail fell off (right down to the 'root') and then regrew, but I've had a funny shaped nail bed ever since!

I think your nail has lifted off the bed and it’s made any discolouration from the polish more obvious.
