You know the ones - you're happily browsing through the clothes/items in a shop, minding your own business when somebody either parks their arse directly in front of you, picks up what you're looking at or aggressively roots through things directly next to you. Particularly prevalent around the sale items!

I make a point of always standing my ground.

Why do people do this? AIBU to think this is incredibly rude?!

It’s called the “herding instinct.” They barge in because they think they might be missing something. Prat’s!

Probably the same people who park their supermarket trolley right in front of the chiller cabinet and spend ages deliberating, so no one else can get anything. Or the people who walk in groups on pavements, stop in doorways or are so glued to a phone that they have no knowledge or understanding of anyone else in their vicinity.

I think that's definitely part of the problem!

If there's one long sale rack, and someone comes to join you on it, is that really unreasonable of them?

Should we take it back to COVID times, but worse, and have people take a ticket to go and access the thing? Long queues outside the rail, managed by someone handing out tickets and telling everyone to stay 1.5 metres from the next bargain hunter?

You moan about the above, but why don't you show yourself and provide a solution?

@JacquesHarlow That is not the issue here. I'm talking about the ones who have no respect for personal space who deliberately make a bee line for whatever it is you're looking at. It happens all the time and I never shop when it's busy!
