Neighbours chiminea

I love summer but christ, you notice how inconsiderate your neighbours are in comparison to winter.

Next door (semi detached) are retired and use their garden a lot - absolutely fine. They do BBQs practically every day throughout summer if it’s not raining, which I’ve never said anything about cause I’m not going to grumble about them enjoying themselves. However they’re now got a chiminea and have been using it every day this week. Their patio is in line with my conservatory which I work in, but as downstairs is open plan the whole house stinks! It’s going for at least 4-5 hours a day, it’s 20 degrees currently I don’t know why you’d need a fire?!

AIBU to think people are becoming more inconsiderate these days?

Are they using it as a BBQ? I can't understand needing it in this heat, even in the evening.

Might be worth having a chat to them. The might not realise the smoke is going into your house.

Mind you they might just not think before they light it.. we have someone local that lights a bonfire when we have nice weather , not thinking about everyone with their washing out.

I don’t think so, not that I could see from trying to peek out of the upstairs bedrooms curtains 😅 I’ve had to shut all the windows upstairs at the back as well.

I would but I honestly don’t see how they wouldn’t know when our houses are attached and the position they have it in their garden means it’s about 8 feet away from my windows. They’ve got form for not being the most considerate in the past with other matters as well.
