To ask what happened to that lovely mother who had a son that was living with his controlling girlfriend ?

I bet you can all remember the OP I mean - there were at least two threads about it. The son had moved in with the girlfriend and she basically was taking control over his life. - he wasn’t attending college as much as he should, he wasn’t keeping in touch with his family and she (the gf) would play emotional games with him. It sounded such an awful awful situation.

I often wonder about that poor mum. Was it ever resolved? Was there an update that I missed? I really hope she’s ok (sorry I can’t remember the OP’s name) and I hope
the son came to his senses.

Yes I remember that one - he was a keen sportsman as well and she convinced him to give it up, or at least massively reduce the amount he was playing if I recall. And all his friends were through his sport so he was really isolated.

I hope it had a happy ending

Sadly there is a similar one, uk male nearly 18, much older girlfriend complete coercive control and no one has done anything even though he's been groomed as a CHILD.

No, that was a different thread. There were some similarities but the young Australian had a deeply controlling gf his own age (school leaving age iirc). Happily the situation resolved but the son, OP and family went through the wringer all right.

The current thread is, very sadly, ongoing. Much older woman and the OP’s boy appears to be in a coercive situation.

I’ve just read the updates. The one I meant was the one with the Part 3… it sounds like it’s gotten a lot worse with the ‘accidental’ injuries. This is awful. That poor, poor woman. Poor anyone in a similar situation actually.
