So much negativity

Technically not an AIBU, as I know very well I am not being unreasonable but…

Why are people so bloody negative, spiteful and small minded at the moment?

Either on this forum, or in real life.

It just brings everyone’s spirits down.

I genuinely don’t understand it.

IABU - No, it’s just you, or everyone deserve it!

IANBU - I agree, it’s horrible.

Fear of change/the unknown

I know. Exhausting, isn't it. So here's some positivity and cheer.

My ds has only two GCSEs to go and then we can all relax. 🍾

My boss seems now not to be intent on firing me - for something I didn't do - and I live to fight another day. I might even risk booking a holiday.

Things could be a lot worse. 😊

Probably because people are fed a diet of bollocks by the media which constantly reminds them that 'things are getting worse' over and over and over again. It's not - life has never been safer, people live longer than ever, there's always been wars unfortunately - but that doesn't keep people tuning into the news to see what they need to be worried about next. I quit watching and reading news roughly 5 years ago so find all the negativity a bit strange. I bumble along as I am and am reasonably happy most of the time (hence the username).

I hope he does really well - they are the worst set of exams really.

Enjoy your holiday!

Fear of change/the unknown

Sometimes yes, but even people whose lives seem pretty stable seem to have it?

You may well be right. There never seem to be any of those lighthearted or positive “..and finally,…” news stories.
