Depends on the job I suppose. Lots of people work in the evenings and maybe this is the best time to find people at home to ring up about a job application? What kind of job is it ?

Teaching assistant in physical education with some coaching involved.

I can see why you think it's odd, but I hope your successful op as it sounds good!
Good luck

As a general rule it's not OK to phone out of office hours.

Without more information, it's hard to say in this case.

Who would you be ringing? You need to give more context

Yes, are you phoning someone’s mobile?

Hi
Its a job my son applied for in a independent grammar school they sent him a email asking if they can call between 7 and 8pm this evening after thier children's bedtime routine. Son is away at uni but is due to graduate.

If they are a sports teacher at an indy school, they possibly don't get home until 6/7. If they are at an away fixture they might not go back to their own school. Even after school training at DCs school used to go onto 5.30.

Why do you think that's odd?

It sounds fine to me, isn't it normal for school jobs to let everyone know on the day of the interview, doing it after hours is necessary and the message is very polite

Oh his dad thinks it's odd and it got me thinking but I did say they may have been doing after school activities until late.
