Posting for traffic and hopefully some help please.
DD was a bridesmaid on Saturday, the weather was hideous and her dress is filthy.
it’s from ASOS and there aren’t any care instructions on it. I’ve checked all of the seams and there isn’t a label anywhere, none have been cut out or anything.
there is what looks to be a QR code on the back of the size label but it is rectangular so won’t scan.
anyone know If im on the right place 😂

I don't think that's a QR code.

Have you looked on the website for care instructions?

BrioNotBiro · 17/06/2024 17:02

Is it 2 sided and opens up to a square QR code?

Mrsjayy · 17/06/2024 17:04

Id just wash it at 40 on a delicate wash it will be fine.

dementedpixie · 17/06/2024 17:05

Do you have a hand wash cycle on your machine?
Use that with delicates liquid

BMW6 · 17/06/2024 17:06

I'd wash by hand in cool water with a little bio detergent

NeverDropYourMooncup · 17/06/2024 17:12

Look it up on the website. It seems to have a brand/style name, which will help you find it if you didn't buy it yourself.

I'd go 30 but perhaps a pic would help of the item. Online link?

Nope the other side just has the size written on it, I did wonder that too

We have a handwash option on the washing machine so might brave that!
i think I’m feeling the pressure as my daughter loves it and wants to wear it for prom!

I would soak it first overnight with some stain remover or bio washing powder, then wash on a delicate wash with bio powder, maybe pre wash first too, then see how it looks! If still dirty you might just have to do a normal non delicate wash if it's too dirty to wear you're not losing anything.

Tittyfilarious · 17/06/2024 17:55

Very gentle wash and pop it into a mesh bag if you have 1 as it's less stress on the chiffon in the machine

Achangeisacoming · 17/06/2024 17:59

Take it to the dry cleaners? Safest bet if you don't want to ruin it....at the very least they could advise you if it's machine washable?

isthismylifenow · 17/06/2024 18:01

I would soak it overnight too as per pp. In cold water and some detergent.

Then if it still needs it, on to the hand wash cycle.

.it doesnt seem to have any embellishments so I'm sure it will be fine.

I wash dry clean only items on hand cycle all the time and they always come out fine.

TeaAndBrie · 18/06/2024 15:45

I would soak it in warmish water with washing soda or powder in it, then gently handwash it.

Lovely dress @TeaAndBrie .
The bad news is

Net bag, cool short machine wash, maybe the hand wash or wool wash if it has one.
Net bags available on Amazon and Ebay. They take the strain out of the material.
