Could any of you lovely lot give some advice on the best pill to take?
I'm early 40s, suffer with awful PMS and periods are becoming iregular and heavy. Is there a pill that helps with PMS and let's you run through a pack and skip a period? I don't need them from a contraceptive point of view, so risk there isn't a concern.

I would recommend the mini pill which you take back to back. I am 45 and have been on it for 7 months. I went on it for terrible period pain and mood swings. First 3 months lots of spotting and irregular periods but for the past 4 months I have had no periods and no symptoms of pms, just need to get through first 3 months to let your body adjust.

You should speak to a GP or family planning clinic (they'll likely know better than the GP tbh). There are multiple reasons why some methods are better or worse for individual people (e.g. weight, past medical history, family history) so nobody on here should really advise.

I had an ablation. They also found and removed a rogue fibroid which hadn't shown up on a scan. It worked brilliantly. Two of my colleagues booked in for the same thing with equally hood results.
