DH being exhausted.

This is a non issue really. Just a little thing that is bugging me.

We have an eight month old daughter who is EBF. I’m fine doing all the feeds + night wake ups as it’s just easier for me as she doesn’t take from the bottle/immediately soothes for me. She usually sleeps in until 7, sometimes before, sometimes after.

Here’s what’s irking me: DH keeps complaining that he’s exhausted. Twice a week he’s up slightly before us for work, the other days his alarm is set for 9:15. Occasionally I’ll put DD on his side of the bed when she wakes if she’s had a bad night at the weekend. It’s also starting to annoy me that weekends aren’t really starting until noon as he’ll be catching up on sleep unless something is preplanned. He’s always complaining that he’s exhausted.

BUT, he rarely goes to bed before midnight. Usually it’s 1am, not unheard of for it to be after 2. He’s not lazy, he does his fair share of household jobs and will always help out with DD if asked. He has cut down some of his hobbies since having DD but they take up a lot of his time. He’s always been a ‘night owl’ and always says how he feels he’s wasted a night if he goes to bed early/needs to unwind. It’s slowly driving me insane how he’s complaining but it’s 95% self inflicted.

Yep that would massively annoy me too!
what about work? Doesn’t he have to be up to start work?

When he’s WFH he’s got flexibility therefore chooses to start at the last moment.

Last night he was reorganising the towels. As in getting rid of towels past their best… at 11:30pm.
