Today I was in a café sitting next to a table of ladies loudly talking about holidays. They spent some time talking about the various overseas trips they had planned for the rest of the year. One of the women then said how she really disliked UK holidays - “why not spend a bit more and go somewhere that’s actually worth it?” Another agreed, “Oh god, I definitely wouldn’t see it as a holiday if we had to go somewhere here!”
I had to stop myself rolling my eyes, just found the whole thing so irritating and short sighted! I appreciate the weather can be average (and is definitely average right now). But the UK has some gorgeous places to visit! Can’t imagine missing out on a lot of the brilliant holidays we’ve had here due to some weird holiday snobbery.
