AIBU to myself over stressing about the seating plan at the Taylor Swift Era's tour

I thought I would type this here purely because someone may actually know and its stressing me out really bad. We have tickets for the Wembley event and thought we had an unobstructed VIP ticket - There are no indications on the seating plans of any obstructions and the seats are advertised as the best views. However in the press for the Edinburgh event people are reporting that their VIP view was blocked by a tent with electrical equipment in it. I thought this would not affect me as the tents are shown on the seating plans for Edinburgh and there are none shown on the seating plans for Wembley. However none are shown on the seating plans for the Liverpool event either but drone shots clearly show these tents have been put up.

I have tried asking AXS if that despite being advertised as the best views are there any notes in my T&Cs for the tickets that my view may be obstructed but they wont answer the question.

Wembley will not engage in any conversation at all about seating.

I imagine on the day I would just have to ask to move but does anyone have any advice - I think I am just being really unreasonable to myself to worry at this stage to the extent that I am stressing.

I have attached a sample picture of what I am talking about.

Defo no plans on having a go at anyone - I work in customer services and know the receiving end. Also not going to let my daughter know what’s happening in my head as it’s her day and possibly a rare event for us given the cost.

plus we are fully aware we are not really VIPs. - they are in the tent causing the worry.

There’s a FB page for Taylor @ Wembley with pics from last night, if you search you might find your seat. I’ve a feeling 102 is ok but have a look.

Countrylife2002 · 22/06/2024 09:53

I’ve actually not seen anyone with a pic of a blocked view on there. And it’s a slightly bonkers group with people complaining (eg ‘it was so badly organised, it took me an hour to get to the tube’, what on earth do people expect - and it’s super safely organised).

helpfulperson · 22/06/2024 09:55

How are people getting moved, it's sold out shows. Surely there is nowhere to move people to.

mountaingoatsarehairy · 22/06/2024 10:01

we were in 111 row 7 - good seats! I think yoI’ll be fine but get there at 4 for doors opening at 5 and you can ask at the information. I saw people being moved. Just be nice and they’ll sort it. It is amazing !!!!

Sold out doesn't always mean every seat at the venue is gone, just that all the seats put up for sale are gone. They often keep some over for late release or to allow for situations like this.

We are in section 102 row 7. We did use a view from my seat at time of purchase. But at time of purchasing the tents were not on the plans and there was no mention of them. I would absolutely love my seats if there was nothing between me and the stage.

Section 102 should be fine. I was in that block last night - although a few rows further back - and the tents are much more to the right rather than being directly in front of the block.

TayTay? Is she really known as that?

Yes

Putting · 22/06/2024 10:26

This is an awful photo but if you look in the middle of the bottom third of the photo, that’s the tents.

Agree, I do marketing for a concierge company that gets their clients last minute tickets to sold out shows (if they pay through the nose) so sold out rarely really means sold out. But they also managed to get several tickets to Taylor’s tour before public release which I think is a bit unfair

Plump82 · 22/06/2024 10:30

Not quite the same as Taylor Swift but years ago we saw Billy Joel in Wembley, no mention of obstructed views when buying them. When we turned up we were practically behind the stage. We (and a lot of other people) complained on the night and the did find us new seats. Before being moved I took loads of photos and complained to ticket master and we got a full refund. I know that doesn't make it any better but they might have things in place if you do feel the view is obstructed.

longers · 22/06/2024 10:38

Thankfully Wembley is much bigger as stated in other posts. Others were moved as also confirmed.

Lkjhgdsrtgbjjm · 22/06/2024 10:42

I really don't understand why they have to have the roofs on the tents. I'd be embarrassed to have the roof on if I were a VIP if I knew it was obscuring other peoples views.

I can't tell if your seats will be ok. I think the lighting rig might be a bit in your way for the main stage but not the diamond but I think you might be ok for the tents. Here are two photos from TikTok. I've marked where I think your tickets are. (One is the quivilent seat on the opposite side of the stadium.

Taylor Swift moves around the stage a lot so I think you will be ok.

Didn’t say I was going to have a go at anyone did I? I said I would get my Mum head on and sort the problem out if there is one - that can be done politely you know! And the only reason I spent so much on tickets was because those were the only ones available!!!! Do you think I’d have spent so much if I could have got one for £50! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Lkjhgdsrtgbjjm · 22/06/2024 10:52

Ugh, I can't edit my post so can't edit typos. Also I've highlighted the adjacent block in one of the photos shows . 🤦🏻‍♀️

longers · 22/06/2024 10:58

Didn’t say I would be having a go at anyone - there is a polite way of doing everything but I certainly won’t be sitting there like a polite Brit pretending it’s all ok to spend over £600 on a ticket and not be able to see.

randoname · 22/06/2024 10:59

I’m in the same block @Swiftie1989 102, row 7 🤞
I’m tomorrow night.

Thank you for the picture. They are reassuring :). We are setting off in the next half hour.

Yep - I am with you as this was really expensive for us - not the sort of thing you just put up with and chalk up to experience. You would have to do something about it on the day. We probably won’t spend this much on tickets ever again and certainly not for any other artist.

I couldn't see the T part of the stage in Edinburgh, one girl and her mum in front of us complained about 4 times, got given 4 separate new seats and came back to their original ones anyway so can't have been that bad!
She was only in the T a couple of times the full concert, spends most of her time in the diamond so if you can see that and the screens, you're not missing anything

FixTheBone · 22/06/2024 11:27

This is anfield... Unfortunately there were people sat to the left, behind the stage... Feel sorry for them...

My girls registered last year and were lucky enough to get tickets on the day of the concert last Friday through ticket master.... £57!

@Putting sorry to derail the thread, but has the chap in your picture got a diamanté decorated head? Fabulous! 😅

Trying81 · 22/06/2024 11:44

Block 102 at Wembley is almost central - so I’d highly doubt you’ll have a restricted view.

Looks like they’ll be excellent seats

102 is almost opposite this if that helps - I’ve been to wembley a few times and I think they’re great seats

OP would you mind updating later to let us know how your seats were? I bought VIP seats in block 102 row 5 for August and have been worrying!
