Perhaps I should just be grateful that I haven't had thrush for years and years, but nearly passed out when the chemist told me how much the farking stuff would cost.

i bulk buy from boots in thailand for 80p, how can they justify the price here?

thisisyesterday · 07/04/2008 22:00

go to the doctors, if you get it on prescription it'll only be, erm, whatever a prescription costs these days

lizandlulu · 07/04/2008 22:02

i bought a oral tablet last week. the 'own brand' type one was £5, while the other one', think it was diflucan but not sure, was £12!
and much more pleasnt than sticking cream up there

Fucking hell

Last time I had thrush my nice independent chemist sold me cheap non branded stuff. Glad he exists as it took a tablet, a pessary and 2 tubes of cream to get rid of it!

NorthernLurker · 07/04/2008 22:03

Ugh - that's reminded me of the last time I used Canestan - that pessary thing is so uncomfortable - or is it just me? (Worried now)

Indith · 07/04/2008 22:06

It was the squelching out of the fanjo that had me dashing to the loo all through MIL's wedding reception as I'd shoved the thing up there the night before that got me.

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 07/04/2008 22:07

The only time I ever needed it, the chemist wouldn't sell it to me!

peasholme · 07/04/2008 22:10

me too hifi! - and stock up on the Diflucan, Cipramil, Amocycillin etc.
And get glasses made up there too.

Divastrop · 07/04/2008 22:10

the cream is about £4,but the one for althletes foot is about £2 and has exactly the same ingredients

peasholme · 07/04/2008 22:12

If you ask Dr for the Big Generic Tube (ie clotrimazole) it costs prescription price and last ForEver. Is it the same as athlete's foot cream, Diva?

NorthernLurker · 07/04/2008 22:13

Indith - I had to have a bath half way through the night as I'd just had enough! It did work though - but what a pain in the errrrrrr fanjo I guess!

madamez · 07/04/2008 22:40

Sorry but I really can't countenance shoving athlete's foot creme up my chuff. I'd never be able to rid my head of thoughts of toesex (and something a mate of mine used to say about men: a sock down the trousers doesn't make it a foot).
