Is it unreasonable to bring up old stories re politicians this close to the GE

IMO, old stories are just that and we should concentrate on what the MP's, and/or prospective MP's are doing, saying now as that is what counts IMO

A tabloid has brought up an old story re a sitting MP who is standing again this GE

YANBU to feel this is wrong??

YABU as we should get to know, reminded of what they did??

Our sitting MP used his expense account to pay his mistress a salary as a private secretary and used his twitter account to repeatedly call constituents tw*ts for daring to suggest he actually appear in our area rather than where he actually lives 200 miles away. So yes, I think "bringing it up" is relevant to his character and service to our constituency.

Not at all wrong, behaviour as a politician is indeed what those trying to get re-elected should be judged on.

What they did whilst an MP 10 years ago, yes

It depends what it is.
if it’s something serious that poses a threat to their credibility we should know about it.
However, Obama I think it was once called this time and practice “silly season” and we don’t want to tip too far into silly season.
