Yes IABU for putting this in aibu but hoping for traffic.

I’ve been bleeding very very heavily forjust under wo weeks now. I’ve got a drs appointment for two weeks time (soonest they’d see me - it’s a triage only surgery.

Im now starting to feel really quite tired and a little bit “woozy” (I wouldn’t say dizzy - but a bit blurred at the edges).

am taking iron tablets - but is there anything I can get over the counter or any foods I should be eating to try and combat the fact that I’ve been losing tons of blood for about 12 days.
literally any advice welcome

Ask at the chemist if tranexamic acid would be ok for you. It will slow the bleeding. https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/tranexamic-acid/who-can-and-cannot-take-tranexamic-acid/

I’d ring 111.

Thank you. Is it available over the counter do you know? Otherwise I suppose I’ve still got to wait for a prescription

You have to talk to the pharmacist first. It depends on if it’s ok for you to take. I’ve used this and it works. Non-prescription

Ibuprofen x2 every 4 hours slowed the bleeding right down for me. It was similar to the effect of tranexamic acid but you can take it for longer than 3 or 4 days at a time.

Iron wise - ferrous Sulfate is a lot stronger than iron supplements and so much more effective.

Brilliant thank you - didn’t even think of ibuprofen! Will look at ferrous sulfate too
