AI Help

Not sure if IABU for wanting to use AI to help with this! But thought it was worth asking advice.

Is anyone aware of a (free!) AI tool that could compare documents, but not just comparing two almost identical documents for changes which I have found tools for. It would be to e.g. take a set of criteria and assess whether a second document meets the criteria requirements .

Wouldn't need to be perfect, very happy to do some manual work as well but thought some AI tool could provide a good starter.

I am aware that ChatGPT could do something with this, but the word limit is too restrictive so needs to be something that can deal with large documents 30 plus pages.

Any help appreciated!

Just be aware that if you are using a free tool or software, its probably harvesting data. So that would make it unsuitable for corporate documents or anything that contains personal info.

Thanks @Thelnebriati that is a really good point. Both the documents are published publicly online and don't contain sensitive data at all so that side of things should be ok.

This is an interesting problem, and if you can't find a relevant software you could contact AI developers to ask them to come up with something.

Yes it seems like something that would be fairly obvious use of AI doesn't it, but various searches etc and I haven't stumbled across anything! Maybe it does need flagging to AI developers!

A non-AI solution to this is that microsoft word offers a parameterised comparison of two documents. It's not really an AI use case.

Thanks @frankentall I did look at the functionally in Word, but it seems that it will only do a direct comparison of two documents, so if they are largely similar and you have made revisions, or checking someone else's revisions, so basically comparing two versions. I am looking more for something that will take a document which sets our criteria and then look at a second document which should meet that criteria and tell me if it does in fact meet the first document's requirements.

I'd be really interested in any further advice on how the Word took has been used though.

Some further digging suggests this is a machine learning thing, so could be possible with AI, but possibly too advanced for a current free tool?
