Hey all
im really struggling at the min at work.
I work in admin for a small business. A new woman started a few months’ ago and we became fast friends. However, “friendship” as since become strained cause we seem to be (I same seem to be because she’s not confirmed) crushing on the same guy at work. The atmosphere has got tense with her frequently butting in when I’m talking to other colleagues to put me down, disagree with me at every single opportunity on every topic or opinion possible and just generally make me uncomfortable. I have tried ignoring and not talking much, but I’m becoming a shell of my normal friendly self. In addition, this guy is lapping up the attention and possibly leading us on.

I come home feeling very low and depressed and unable to concentrate on my kids (single mum).

We have the option to work from home. Should I take it for a few weeks to a. Get over my crush b. Avoid her and let the situation cool down for a bit. Or would I be letting her get the better of me. Also, I am a people person so do enjoy getting out of the house but this situation is getting to me so bad.

opinions please?

Work from home and enjoy the extra time in the garden while it’s warm. There are no winners here. You can still crush from home and make excuses to contact him. Pretend it’s for some house works etc.

If you can, put in catch ups throughout the week with your friends/crush - tell the truth it’s because you need human interaction. If he really likes you he’ll attend the catch ups.

Thanks but I really wanna just get over my crush. If anything ever came of it, it would be a disaster at work (esp if it went tits up), and anyway I think he is just playing with every girl in the office rather than liking me specifically.
