Don't throw your poo bags into people's skips

Vergingontheridiculous · 06/06/2024 20:50

We're having work done on the house. The skip is outside the back door, and the wall between the back door and the house has been demolished for access. There is temporary metal fencing which clearly shows the skip is on our property.

We live along a lane which is popular with dog walkers. Today I opened the back door to take laundry out and nearly stepped in the poo bag someone had lobbed over the fence towards our skip and obviously missed.

Even if it had gone in the skip, it doesn't get emptied every week. So, as soon as something heavy (like construction materials) was placed on top of the poo bag, that's going to go everywhere, and stink. And probably make it harder to retrieve usable construction materials.

What is wrong with people? Don't put your literal shit on other people's property (oh and actually pick it up and take it home with you/put it in a designated bin regardless).

IABU: totally fine to just throw dog shit anywhere, as long as it's in a bag

IANBU: don't throw actual shit onto other people's property. Or anywhere except a bin or your own house (where you can do what you like with it)

It would be perfectly reasonable to put a nappy in a bag in a skip too. Honestly this is crazy. I would never ever leave dog poo on the floor it's picked up and put in a bin. Might not be my bin but it's put in a bin...or skip

Have you read any of the replies? Skips aren’t bins. They are often designated for specific materials that are recycled. It’s only ‘like a bin’ if it happens to be a skip which has been designated for landfill. You’ve got no way of knowing that so it’s grim to put your dogs shit in a skip which is quite possibly destined to have its contents recycled.

Humans don't poo in the street though

Dogs shouldn't either

NO! You flush poo down the toilet. You're not meant to put nappies filled with poo in the bin

It's a bin calm down. I always do this when I'm on a walk it's very convenient saves me holding on to it till we get to the park

What a revolting attitude you have. Disgusting.

Yummymummy2020 · 06/06/2024 22:03

Honestly I am amazed at how anti social people can be sometimes. And those dog poo bags are a nightmare they get left all over the place! Disgusting. People can be so entitled!

My neighbours all seem to really like me actually Grin

I bet they don't. You sound thick as (dog) shit and unbelievably ignorant.

Have you no fucking shame?!

whyhavetheygotsomany · 06/06/2024 22:13

Haha I can assure you they do like me and no I'm definitely not thick (as shit) sorry to disappoint. My dog poo is picked up and it's put in a bag In a bin but i need to be eradicated from society ? Maybe a little bit drastic ! I would probably find some of the things you all do disgusting truth be told! Wishing you all a pleasant and peaceful evening.

siameselife · 06/06/2024 22:59

Have you told him its disgusting and giving you the ick?

I've told him I don't think it's okay but he doesn't care, like the pp he thinks it's bagged, he doesn't like the building work and just isn't bothered.

JustGettingStarted · 06/06/2024 23:10

I honestly never thought about the contents of skips being sorted for recycling. I walk past a skip on a part of the walk where it's often convenient. It's full of all sorts of assorted rubbish (drinks bottles, etc) and I've tossed poo bags in it several times.

But now I'm aware that someone has to get in there are sort it, I won't anymore. I don't find it particularly odious to carry it further.

ToxicChristmas · 06/06/2024 23:17

We had someone (this is at work) throw their dog shit bag into our recycling bin. Came onto the site through the gate and lobbed it in. One of the directors was walking past at the time and saw them do it. There were a few choice words and dog shit owner retrieved the bag and took it the couple of yards to put in the actual dog poo bin. Absolutely disgusting to put in a skip (sorted by hand) and a recycle bin.

annabofana · 06/06/2024 23:20

Scampuss · 06/06/2024 20:59

It's gross.

Skip contents often need to be shifted about Tetris-style as the skip is filled; then the workers who sort the waste later need to separate out what's recyclable etc. (gone are the days of it all going to landfill). Contaminating recyclables is literally shitty behaviour.

Yes, exactly.

@whyhavetheygotsomany I hope you have learned something here.

It's not a bin.

Isitchill · 06/06/2024 23:20

Yanbu.
Dog poo goes in the appropriate public bin or back home with the owner.

Never in skips or other people's bins. That's gross.

MrBallensWife · 06/06/2024 23:27

I have 3 dogs and wouldn't dream of putting their poo bags on anyone's property/skip or wheelie bin.
I won't even put them in a public bin if it's near a children's play area.
I hate it when all dog owners get tarred with the same brush. We don't all just lob our dogs poo bags in people's bins or on their property. Some of us have respect.

murasaki · 06/06/2024 23:33

Someone dropped a poo bag in my neighbours outside bin and it burst. Nice cleaning job for her. People who do this are scuzzers.

Over the road neighbours that I am friends with agreed that I could put a couple of bits in their skip while doing an extension. Their builders were tarping the skip overnight. I popped out to put the bits in, they rightly queried me, I said S and K had agreed but I'd phone them now to confirm if that'd help, they let me go ahead. I whatsapped S to let her know how good her builders were being re skip maintenance!

If it's not your skip, and you don't have agreement, don't do it. And definitely not shit.

Even when you know some poor sod is going to have to manually go through the skip to sort everything? Well aren't you a considerate member of society. 🙄

Don’t put it on someone else’s bin/ property. Yes your dog poo is inconvenient for you but you were the one that chose to have a dog. Take some responsibility. My sister chased after someone who put dog poo in her bin. She threw it in the bag she was carrying.

whiteboardking · 06/06/2024 23:47

A skip is a type of bin we pay for. No one should put anything in someone's skip for free. It's cheeky. Hard to stop tho

Auburngal · 06/06/2024 23:48

nobeans · 06/06/2024 21:01

If you wouldn't stick human poo in a skip don't put dog poo in a skip. If you would but human poo in a skip then all hope is lost.

I am a litter womble and on picks, we have found bags of human poo! Mainly found in lay-bys and industrial estates. As toilet facilities for couriers and lorry drivers is awful and some businesses still refuse to let drivers use their toilets even after covid.

Plus get bottles of wee too. AKA Drivers Tizer.

Scalextrix · 06/06/2024 23:48

coldcallerbaiter · 06/06/2024 21:04

I do not believe in letting dogs poo and pick up in bags. Poo is left as remnants on the ground. We are all walking this shit around.

They should invent a diaper for them and it can be bagged and put in a bin.

if possible less dogs, a lot less. It’s heaven going in holiday to countries or places with far less dogs.

This is why I’m a shoes off household!

Ihateslugs · 06/06/2024 23:54

I've had to book for someone to come and clean my garden waste bin after my gardener complained about the smell when he put cuttings in it today. I put it out to be emptied last night and he reckons someone has put dog shit in it and it’s been spread around the bin - bag split or possibly not in a bag!

As he has now half filled the bin, I will have to wait until it is emptied next week before it can be cleaned and disinfected. In the meantime them smell is really noxious when the lid is opened so I’ll have to stop breathing when I put my food waste in it!

None of my neighbours have dogs and there are none living in my road so it must have been a passing dog walker too lazy to take his dogs waste home.

How about take your shit with you? Dont be lazy and yes carry it with you yo the park!

HAF1119 · 07/06/2024 00:09

It is gross.. even if it's a bin as opposed to a skip. I've owned plenty of dogs, if you choose to own the dog dispose of their waste in your own bin. Oddly enough some poor person who didn't choose to own a dog and puts a bin bag on top of a bag of shite and ends up with it burst all over the place isn't going to be that happy! Even if it doesn't burst only someone entirely self centred can't quite carry a small bag of shite from the animal they own to the next dog poo bin - or their own home, they manage to walk their dog, sure they can manage the weight of its shit for a walk

Shakespeareandi · 07/06/2024 00:13

Why would anyone put poo in someone elses bin?? That's really odd behaviour. It's a private bin, private property. The PP who said they do, no. Just no. I'm guessing it's just a wind up. Who on earth would think someone else wants your dogs stinky poo bag in their skip or bin. It's YOUR dog's shit, you take it home and put it in your bin. Would you put anyting else in other people's skips or is it just dog poo?
