so, not sure if this is under the correct topic, but anyway…
my daughter is 12, renewing her passport for the 3rd time. My boyfriend filled it out all online.
They have asked for her birth certificate, we sent it over, now they are asking for mine. Will send it special delivery tomorrow, Luckily my mother still had it.
We go on holiday in 8 weeks.

Now I’m trying to figure out why they want the birth certificates, I think my other half maybe made a mistake on the application, he thinks it’s because he is parent B on the forms. And I am parent A, and because we are not married they want more proof as he is the father and he made the application.
I renewed my sons last year, I filled out the application and got it back within 3 weeks.
I understand they want to protect children etc, just incase anything sinister is going on, but it’s all just very stressful, is it not a bit over the top? has anyone else has this?

You will be able to track it and once they have processed the BCs, it should go through within a week. It's the one means of I.D, so if course the checks have to be thorough.

It’s because you are born after 1.1.83 they need to check that you were a British citizen at the time of your child’s birth, you probably didn’t put ur passport number on the form
