The neighbours at my holiday let are giving me the rage.

I've recently lost my parents and wanted to get away for some peace and quiet.

I've booked a self catering cottage deliberately chosen because it's right in the countryside. Lovely and quiet.

It's one of two. The neighbours are a group of 4 adults and 4 small kids.

I've been trying to relax in the garden and for the last 5 hours they've been shouting, laughing and being extremely noisy.

It's noisier than my neighbours at home.

AIBU to be irritated?

Some less than sympathetic posts on here. OP has recently lost her parents FFS. It makes me think these people have never lost anybody close and they have no idea how it feels.
Your tolerance levels will be lowered,OP and your sensitivity will be heightened.
I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Do you have headphones so you can listen to peaceful music? Or earplugs?

Sorry for your loss, you know you are bu, I hate other people and have just come back from a holiday where my caravan was plonked in the middle of nowhere not near anyone else, that's the only way to guarantee peace. I have come back to screaming kids and noise cos that's Life in a terraced house, vsame if you go on holiday in a house near other people they will make noise, if it's within reasonable hours not a lot you can do.earphones are good

Glad it is quiet now, I am sure if you book a cottage again you will completely avoid any weekend near a school holiday.

Sorry for your loss.
