I don't know exactly why but I just cannot stick him! I think he is cheesy, bland and cringeworthy all combined at the same time. But he is on R2 all the time because they don't seem to have any other options?

He's been "on" for Vernon all week with his "WOOOOO" every 5 minutes, so I've obviously re-tuned for all of that. He now does Pick Of The Pops - so, again, just NO. Tonight we have his regular show "Sounds of the 80s" So that goes off too!

I love Gary Davies! But I listened to him/radio 1 back in the 80s so I think there's a lot of nostalgia involved in listening to him. Pick of the pops often takes me back to that time.

He’s a bit of a ‘support teacher’ covering other people’s slots, apart from his 80s shows.

However, Vernon is back next week, and he hasn’t got the ‘’pick’ slot permanently.

I love Gary Davies! He's a really experienced, professional DJ who plays a great mix of music. I wish he would replace the abominable Scott Mills who has the talent and charisma of a wooden plank. Mills is so so boring and his music choice is crap. I hate his show and always turn it off. RIP Steve Wright who must be turning in his grave.
While we're on the subject, Sara Cox can get lost as well with her pathetic attempts at humour. Let's have Nicki Chapman or Anita Rani.

OTOH, I've only got to hear Rylan's voice and the radio goes off, and I can only bear Sara Cox in tiny doses.

Funny to see my old thread bumped up! I've more or less permanently tuned away from R2 now as Christmas was wall to wall Davies. Every time I put the radio was there he was being inane as ever. Some days he was on twice! I literally have to turn him off within seconds.

I've been rediscovering R4 and R5, which has been good.
