I think the conviction is flimsy and will be overturned on appeal. It looks like foul play by the democrats due to the timing...
What makes you think it's flimsy? The DA's office collected and sifted evidence, then presented it to a grand jury, which concluded that charges were justified. They had to present their evidence to a judge at preliminary hearings and the judge approved it.
Trump tried to have 60 alleged election fraud cases heard, in different states, but failed because "I have heard," and "A lot of people are saying," do not constitute evidence. Sydney Powell and other Trump lawyers were sanctioned for wasting court time, fined and made to write letters of apology.
He also leant on judges personally, to try to get them to approve cases against his enemies, even commenting, "She's ungrateful and disloyal, I gave her the job!" He misunderstood the separation of the judiciary and Government, assuming that they were simply a weapon in his personal arsenal.
What makes you think that Biden, or the Democratic Party would be able to influence judges? Trump certainly couldn't.
Also, if the charges were flimsy, his lawyers could have appealed to a higher court, to get the case dismissed. They didn't, because they didn't have a leg to stand on. There was a wealth of evidence, including cheques and instructions, with his signature on them.
It was a whole lot more than Stormy Daniels and Cohen bad-mouthing him for revenge. He channelled the hush money through Cohen and entered them into his business records as legitimate legal advice, writing them off against tax.
The conviction seems solid.
