they'll get guitar hero thumb soon -its a sad thing but eventually the pain puts them off incessant playing (or did for my dh)

Kimi · 05/04/2008 20:20

DP is the worst of the lot, starting to think he did not buy it for the DCs

Your DP and your first dear husband are playing guitar hero togetehr (or who is DH1?)

But yes, guitar hero whilst great fun for the person playing is torture for those watching/listening/in the same house.

Kimi · 05/04/2008 20:30

Yes hippi Dear husband 1 and new DP are very good friends.
Better for the children and everyone.

I think that is brilliant Kimi. I did initially wonder if there had been a type
Sorry.

Are they still playing?

hippipotami · 05/04/2008 21:24

typo, not type

Kimi · 05/04/2008 21:30

No thank god DH1 has take the DCs home with him for the night (they live between the two houses and we live 10 mins apart) and DP was told if he wanted dinner turn it off.

A lot of people get confused with the DH1/DP thing .

DH1 and I are still very close, still a family just a bigger one now and a bit odd, but we are still the parents of two wonderful children even if we are not a couple now.
DP is very understanding about this and he and DH1 are friends, in fact they are off on a boys only holiday later in the year!

I am very lucky TBH as I know couples who have split up and would like to rip each other limb from limb and the kids suffer.

Our DCs see dad every day can stay at home or go home when ever they want to and we all have Sunday dinner together. DH1 babysits for DP and I and DP babysits if DH1 and I have to go to parents evening ect.

I have a sneeky feeling the game is not so much for the DCs as it is for DP and DH1 though

Headphones?

Dh wears those big ear defender ones so he doesn't get a stake through the heart.

hippipotami · 05/04/2008 21:32

Enjoy the peace and quiet, tomorrow the guitars will probably be in full swing again

Ds is desperate for guitar hero after playing it at BIL's house. I really really really really really don't want him to have it, but nor surprisingly, dh is quite keen (sigh)
Ds also wants a drumkit and drum lessons. He has been asking for this for the past two years.

Ds is 8. No chance he is growing up to become a quiet teenager is there?

SparklyGothKat · 05/04/2008 21:35

I love GH3

Kimi · 05/04/2008 21:37

SPG You are welcome to come live here if I can live in your house if it is quite
Hippi if you get him drums get a garden shed and put it as far away from the house as you can

Desiderata · 05/04/2008 21:38

Oh, jeez! Is that the one where you get a fake guitar with the coloured spots on it, and you have to follow the path on the screen?

SparklyGothKat · 05/04/2008 21:39

quiet!!!?? no chance!! we have GH3 too... I had a go and loved it, can now play 'hit me with your best shot' 'cliffs of dover' and 'when you are young' Apparently I rock lol!!

hippipotami · 05/04/2008 21:41

120ft garden, so that is a possiblity. But the garden behind us is only 40ft or so, so those poor people would soon get fed up! (and my friends live in the house next to the one behind us and would therefore have to suffer ds's drumming, and I would quite like to remain friends with them

Soundproof the loft may be an option?

Kimi · 05/04/2008 21:41

SGC as you seem to be a real life rock chick you are not banned from my house

OP posts:
Kimi · 05/04/2008 21:42

YANBU
I hated it after 1 second

SparklyGothKat · 05/04/2008 21:43

thanks (i think ) I can't play a real guitar to save my life..

hippipotami · 05/04/2008 21:44

The bit that makes me laugh most when watching GH3 is the way the players do that 'guitar lifty uppy' thing to get more points.

At Christmas there was my mil, in twinset and pearls, lifting and twirling and gurning as she played. I nearly pmsl

See now a real guitar I would be happy with for ds.
He wants to play an electric guitar. So I told him that he would first have to learn to play an acoustic guitar and then move onto the electric one.
Oh no, he is not interested. Not cool enough apparently
For heaven's sake, the boy is 8. Where does he get these ideas??[exasperated already]
