To ask how is this possible?

Ferritin levels at the end of last year were 22. This was done at a private clinic. I've taken one month of ferrous fumerate 305mg and now my ferritin is 64 according to the NHS.

How is this possible, my past experience of taken iron is it takes forever to get it to rise. Anyone think this is odd?

Mine went up by more than that within a fortnight recently.

Ferritin levels in women can vary naturally just day to day (without taking any supplements at all) by as much as 25-30%, so I don't think it's particularly odd that yours have changed that much over the course of a month of supplements.

I don't think that's a crazy rise in five months, especially given you had a month of supplements in that time.

I'm still very breathless, having to stop half way up a fight of stairs. I'm a non smoker, non drinker and not over weight. I presumed my iron was still very low as this was still happening.
