PT has ghosted me

gratefulbutsad · 28/05/2024 07:20

Someone did a thread on here on money you may as well have thrown down the drain and this is how I felt about my PT sessions.

Paid for 4, completed 4. Great. Re bought another 4 classes. As I'm pregnant, we agreed I would do 45 min sessions, not 60 and make up a 5th class.

First session did 45 min. Second session did the full 60. Third session I cancelled inside the cancellation window, had a migraine I could not shift so paid full whack.

The 4th session, I was going on holiday when she messaged to say she was leaving the gym and hoped we could fit in the final session in the few days between me being back and her leaving. Just wasn't possible my side. I asked for a refund or whether we could maybe ask the gym to let us in after she left and she said they would.

Woke up the day of the session with a rash, my son also had it on his hands, feet, bottom. I was worried it could be hand foot and mouth, even though I felt fine I wanted to be courteous and let her know, offering to honour the session or if she prefers to move it. She said she won't do either and could redund me half the session.

When I replied saying we are also outstanding the 15 min from our second session, given it was 45 min, so can she refund me £45, not £30, she ignored my message.

I messaged twice since and she won't reply. I don't have her postal address, only her phone number, email and bank details.

I've paid £240 for 1 hr 45 min of her time. I know the session I cancelled for a migraine is on me and I paid for it but this final session seems harsh as if she wasn't leaving and then refused to train me for the rash I wouldn't have lost out. I wish I had just gone and not told her as I felt fine and now lost another £60.

I'm a bit confused by your post. How much do you pay per hour? £60? So you paid for the 5 sessions you were supposed to have upfront?

Yes, it's £60 per session and I bought x4 sessions, paying £240.

The last book of sessions I bought were 60 min each but she suggested if I wanted to make them shorter then we could do 4 x 45 min sessions and have a 5th session to make up the time.

I guess she was being accommodating so I would continue buying classes but then she suddenly left, then ghosted me.

id just let it go to be honest

Stylishcooncil · 28/05/2024 08:53

I would not be getting my knickers in a twist over £15 here I would be glad she is giving the £30 back as it is and just pay as you in future?

Bluevelvetsofa · 28/05/2024 09:06

You posted this last week, I think and the consensus was that getting the £30 was what you could reasonably expect.

curiouslycoy · 28/05/2024 09:41

Yes I did post about it last week which is why I changed my name as she has now totally ghosted me, so I won't even get a penny.

Any advice from here? When you say let it go, just let another £60 go?

I would say you have pissed her off enough now that you won't see a penny of it never mind the £30.

WingSluts · 28/05/2024 09:57

Not the PTs fault you wanted to fiddle about with the length of the sessions then got ill twice. Just like the last thread, I think she's been more than fair.

DaniMontyRae · 28/05/2024 10:00

I'm not sure I would spend too long on this given it's only 45 mins you've missed out on over the block (1st session 15 mins, and then the 15 mins from the cancelled sessions). Given you are the one who cancelled at short notice twice I don't think that you should expect anything from the 3rd and 4th sessions beyond the 15 mins that had been agreed to go toward a 5th session.

She's probably had a rethink about refunding half of the 4th session. You told her you probably had a highly contagious infection so of course she didn't want to train you.

bananaramaterry · 28/05/2024 10:20

She's not giving it back and has made that clear.

Why change name to start a new thread and then change back to the name you posted the old one under? If you're worried she's going to see it then she'd easily be able to find both threads now as you've used both names on each thread

curiouslycoy · 28/05/2024 10:35

@Stylishcooncil I'm not sure that's how consumer rights work.

OP was offered the money back and refused it, demanding more.

curiouslycoy · 28/05/2024 10:36

@Lanawashington because the situation evolved given she has completely ghosted me and not now even refunding the £30. I wanted fresh perspective.

It's a lot of money, £60 to walk away from. It's also not my fault she left the gym....

curiouslycoy · 28/05/2024 10:39

@Stylishcooncil my request was can we defer another week and she said no, I asked to keep the class, she said no. She just said £30 or nothing, so I asked about the other outstanding £15. I wouldn't say I demanded anything.

I've paid, in good faith, up front a lot of money. She put unrealistic deadlines on when I had to use it by. Now has ghosted me and cost me £60:

Was her offer to shorten the sessions.,,

You are not getting it back, you need to move on, they have

TeenLifeMum · 28/05/2024 10:42

What’s the ts and cs? With my dc dance, if you cancel due to illness you still pay. I thought that was fairly standard. My old pt was the same but was flakey and I stopped classes.

You really need to let it go. No point making 2 threads asking for advice then disagreeing and dismissing everyone who replies to you.

curiouslycoy · 28/05/2024 10:45

@Stylishcooncil how so? I don't think I've dismissed 'everyone'. I made one comment about consumer rights. Everything else I've answered a question or provided more info. Talk about dramatising.

Strictly1 · 28/05/2024 10:48

With my pt if I cancel I still pay so I don’t think she owes you as much as you think she does.
