To ask your filthy guilty pleasure food

The cake thread got me thinking - what’s your guilty pleasure food? Something that you objectively know is total rubbish but which you can’t get enough of.

I hold my hands up to liking chicken and sweetcorn pot noodles. I very very rarely have one but just occasionally, I do get the urge.

Also, dirt cheap takeaway pizza. The kind with non-specific tasteless cheese and tomato puree.

@Getonwitit haha, yeah. I just ate 8 of them.
It Was from my local corner shop, one of those buying groups like costcutter etc.
They'll probably never have them again after a week as their stock changes by what fell off a lorry that month I think!
They're worth hoarding if you find them! 😁

OneTC · 28/05/2024 18:19

Oh yeah butter on chips 🤤

Wouldcouldcantwont · 28/05/2024 18:26

Half a baguette hollowed out, inside thickly buttered and then filled with chilli. Top it off with another dollop of butter. Heaven!

Wouldcouldcantwont · 28/05/2024 18:29

and for dessert Coco Pops, a little milk and a huge blob of squirty cream. Cream must be covered in Coco Pops with every bite.

Isseywith3witchycats · 28/05/2024 18:29

toasted crumpets with that much butter on them it Drips down your fingers when your eating them

I apologise in advance for this horror BUT I really like that chicken in white sauce you get in a tin, with white rice (and heaps of black pepper).

I have it cold straight from the tin in a warm baguette.
Or with ready made shortcrust pastry to make a pie (litterally just the tin filling and nothing else added) it’s lovely hot with veg or my favourite is when it’s cooled back to room temperature with a green salad and avocado 👌

SlightlygrumpyBettyswaitress · 28/05/2024 18:41

Greg's pizza slice but only when hot.
I am both gluten and dairy intolerant but sweet jesus.

GingerPirate · 28/05/2024 18:46

Bloody hell....
Tonnes of extra strong Trebor mints.
And will not stop.. 😩

A plain digestive with cream cheese on is great. Supernoodles but put in a dish and topped with ham and cheese then grilled, really good.

Reading about the PP with double gherkins, dh and I came back quite drunk from a very rare night out a few months ago and ordered McDonald's. We got someone else's order which contained a big mac with extra gherkins and extra raw onion. What kind of wrongun adds extra raw onion!? I hate raw onion but even dh thought it was an abomination.

I never thought to order extra onion but I will now!!! I eat cheddar and raw onion rolls…only from the bakery though.

I'm a proper slag for cheese so a goats cheese tart with a side of the most creamy, garlicky dauphinoise you can imagine.

'Proper slag for cheese' made me laugh 😃

DavidRosesEyebrows · 28/05/2024 20:00

Findus crispy pancakes. The minced beef ones. With ketchup😳

Double cream on muesli (with milk)

Me tooooooo! So unbelievably good (and practically a health food because of the muesli). Also double cream and a little milk on bran flakes

If you order at the machines you can hit customise and go wild. They've toned it down a bit now though, when it first came out you could add LOADS of extra gherkins or onions but now you can only click them once.

Quarter pounder with cheese, plus extra cheese, extra mustard, extra onions, extra gherkins is amazing

painauchoc512 · 28/05/2024 20:07

Love so many of these and haven't had them in years! I love a tin of Heinz ravioli with toast.

ArcticBells · 28/05/2024 20:12

@Broop 😋😋😋

I haven’t been able to find Marmite in Italy since Brexit, so I’ve had to get creative with my cheap baguette and thick butter.
Soy sauce
Bouillon powder
Miso sachet
Bisto
and guiltiest of all, cooked in the dirty frying pan dregs.

DGM used to call it “dripping”.

Glad you mentioned dripping, even though yours isn't!!

But dripping from the Sunday roast beef on bread or toast, with salt and pepper. Must be a few years since I've actually had any.

And ai miss the days when Mum would grill bacon and then dip the bread for bacon butties in the bacon fat rather than using butter.

StarbucksQueen1 · 28/05/2024 20:19

Fried egg sandwich when hungover, why does a hangover make me crave eggs?
Macaroni cheese
Super noodles

Snackpocket · 28/05/2024 20:20

MintyCedric · 28/05/2024 09:23

Tinned spaghetti hoops (has to be hoops) with mini sausages in a bowl with triangles of thickly buttered white toast.

Yep I’m with you on that!

Findus crispy pancakes. The minced beef ones. With ketchup😳

Didn’t know they still did these but all I think of is burning my mouth on them! Same association with pop tarts!

Ladyandherspaniel · 28/05/2024 00:17

Fried Egg and proper homemade chips that are done in a deep fat fryer 🍳🍟 plenty of salt and vinegar and a piece of bread and butter yum.

This is the best meal in the world. Used to be amazing from a 'caff' but oven chips have ruined.

Doingthework · 28/05/2024 20:33

Is there anything more filthy than a Donner meat calzone with chips and garlic sauce inside. Meaty cheesy shame 😔

superplumb · 28/05/2024 20:35

Nutella and biscoff smooth spread on a tablespoon straight in my gob. Biscoff had a slight salty taste which goes well with nutella.

Condensed milk out the tin

Cornflakes with warm milk, sugar added then into the microwave for 20 seconds so sugar melts

Potato frozen waffle inside a toast sandwich with ketchup ( prevents hangovers)

Maderia cake sliced with butter

Chicken super noodles

Crisps sandwiches with cheese and Branston pickle. On cheap white bread.

Stale prawn crackers from Chinese take away.

Proper fried bread. I can rarely find it now.

Black pudding and haggis supper.

crackofdoom · 28/05/2024 20:42

You'd think low carbing would bar you from filthy food pleasures, but I give you Aldi smoked processed cheese slices with Jalapeño. An impressively long ingredients list.

With deep fried mushrooms.

stokesfire · 28/05/2024 20:47

Gregg's sausage roll followed by Gregg's yum yum.
