Camping with a 1.5 year old

We have DC 4 years and 17 months. I'm wanting to go camping just for 2 nights as DC 4 is eager to try it and we used to enjoy camping before DC.

DP is saying its not practical with a 17 month old, that baby will wake other people when waking up in the night with being away from home, and that it will be too cold even in summer.
AIBU to think 2 nights with a 17 month old should be manageable and a brief cry before we can pick DC up shouldn't be an issue?

Why would you camp close enough to others for noise to be a problem? Go to a secluded spot!

It’s the only time my 18 month old has ever slept through the night! It was hard work but manageable and worth it for the experience for the older kids in my opinion

Is your baby in a travel cot or sleeping beside you? I'd like to take our 6mo camping but we've always co-slept and I don't know how to do that safely on an airbed.

We used self inflating mats I think they are called rather than air bed. They are much thinner but I find it comfy enough and safe for co sleeping

Best thing I even did taking my 10mo camping. It’s not as difficult as it might look on paper. The key is to keep them up as late as possible. We’re taking our second camping for the first time next month aged 11 months, we can’t wait! It’s a much much easier holiday than going abroad.
