So many boxes ticked for this one. Parked on double yellows, blocking a disability crossing, corner, entrance to a road.

I’d have made it my business to find a policeman or traffic warden.

Find a policeman? We dont see them in these parts for anything short of a murder. They don't even bother to turn out for burglary any more.

Cant think as I've seen a traffic warden for some years either, but thats probably due to the pay cuts meaning nobody wants to do the job.

In short, shit parking, but realistically in most places nobody will do a thing about it, and the drivers know it.

Both you and the driver would've died of old age if you lived round here.

Delivery driver who’d be gone in just a second?

Find a policeman?! Grin

HighOnMaiden · 25/05/2024 18:57

Out of interest, anyone here seen a policeman 'on the beat' recently? Just strolling around?
I think the last time I saw that was about 1992

Wow. I live opposite a school and PCSO’s are regularly in attendance. Suppose it has it’s advantages despite the chaos at pick up times.

This is an area where builders block pavements daily. I’ve photographed, reported but nothing ever gets done about it. I’ve witnessed people in wheelchairs on the road because of the builders.

There is a special place in hell for people who park over tactile crossings it’s fucking bullshit people do it all the time near me and I report constantly. Usually if you email council’s parking enforcement they will send someone asap.

police are absolutely useless. They do nothing whatsoever for anything here - parking is so low on the list and much more serious stuff gets ignored it’s so depressing.

grumpypedestrian · 25/05/2024 22:13

I’ve emailed the council three times and never get a reply. I send photos and exact locations using the online forms. I hate those builders, it’s next to a busy GP surgery too.

I’m sorry for you / sometimes councils are shit with this too. Our council and police won’t issue tickets from photos so someone has to be on the ground.

it actually does make me sad - people get away with all sorts of crap, which is why they do it.

I reported similar behaviour on a street I used to live on. It was causing me to be housebound (disabled) as I couldn't get off my street without going in the road on a blind bend that people zoomed around. Council told me it was outside their remit and to call the police, police came after three reports and were just like "why are we here for this! I can ASK them to stop but I can't make them." Long story short I remained housebound.
