I feel that Moloney’s accent enabled him to sort of sneak up and whack her on the head, after all the clipped accents from the others.

Fascinatedbutbusy · 24/05/2024 15:07

Is that it for the day or is there more? I missed the last bit.

Maybe she thought he was lowly too.

Big mistake. Huge.

grumpygrape · 24/05/2024 15:08

I think having been mauled by the bears this morning she didn't notice Maloney sneaking up on her until he slipped the knife into her

chilling19 · 24/05/2024 15:08

That was brilliant and very upsetting at the same time. Really brought home the horrendous dismissive attitude of the higher ups and has destroyed Vennells' reputation for ever.

nauticant · 24/05/2024 15:09

Note the choreography. The barristers agreed to let Mr Moloney go last because he could end on the devastating points from the email, and do it while the victim of the Post Office, Jo Hamilton, who was being further victimised in the vile email, was sat next to him looking daggers at Vennells. The optics are fantastic. It won't have turned out like that by chance.

All done until 12.00 on the 3rd June.

No excuse not to do the blasted housework now

She's definitely had media training before appearing here - trying to always bring it back to a positive

That's almost certainly true. However, I suspect that it's just the way she speaks and sees the world.

Right from the word go she never missed a chance to praise herself. "I was too trusting". Even when shown her own emails that clearly show her to be spiteful and vindictive, she says it was a "mistake" and in reality she was a very fair minded and kind woman who wouldn't act like that way.

Yes, people will have that last bit stuck in their heads. Very clever staging. Craftsmen at work.

I had the robot hoover on upstairs. Cheating or multitasking, you decide!

A lot of clergy are very invested in seeing themselves as 'good people' and simply cannot admit into their consciousness the notion that they may be bad, even if what they have done is bad. Hence the weird naivety in a woman of her age and position.

meimei80 · 24/05/2024 15:15

Has the live stream ended?

I think your right!

Yes, back on 3rd June.

It's a good thing it isn't a drinking game!

It actually is, in more than one household to my knowledge Grin

That's brave! I'd considered but rejected the idea due to high risk of death from alcohol poisoning!

"I don't remember."
"I didn't see it."
"I did see it, but didn't understand it to mean what it clearly means."
"Other people were responsible for that."
"[cries]"
"I imagine..."

Thank you. I am multi tasking, badly, thankfully I am not in charge of anything important.

Peregrina · 24/05/2024 15:20

I thought Jo Hamilton maintained her composure remarkably well. I would have wanted to jump up and try to throttle Vennells.

meimei80 · 24/05/2024 15:21

I thought it went on until 4.30pm and Jason Beer still had some questions?

nauticant · 24/05/2024 15:21

I think Jason Beer considered Moloney's mic drop to be a good end point.

Peregrina · 24/05/2024 15:22

Jason Beer said he had no more. I suspect he knows when to stop.

He also knew that the answers would be "I don't remember, I don't recollect, I imagine that would have been the case."

DelythBeautyQueen · 24/05/2024 15:22

Quirkyme · 24/05/2024 15:06

@DelythBeautyQueen

Pissed at Vennels. As in pissed off, clearly.

Your post said "pissed" as in drunk, not "pissed off" as in angry. The "off" is pretty important in this context.

Quirkyme · 24/05/2024 15:24

@DelythBeautyQueen

Everyone else got it. It makes absolutely no sense that I would be saying that he is pissed drunk. So clearly, it meant he was pissed off.

Not gonna sit here and argue semantics with you. It was clear and your question has been answered.

meimei80 · 24/05/2024 15:21

I think he was wise to leave it alone after the bitchy e-mail - left PV hanging on a negative

A little surprised that PV's own lawyer chose the no questions option
