Rishi due to tell us at 5pm what the date is - smart money on 4th July perhaps pressaging his inevitable departure for the USA.

I'm absolutely fuming. Poor PM getting soaking wet & some twat playing that loud music. Sometimes I'm so ashamed to be British.
I know that won't go down well with all the Labour lovers here. I'm getting on in years - I remember what a mess they made of the country in the past. And will again.

😳He chose the time and date and can afford an umbrella.

No one forced him to go out in the rain 🙄

This Government are the most corrupt, self serving and incompetent we've had and they make me ashamed to be British. Can't wait to see the back of them.

ExtraOnions · 22/05/2024 17:53

He should have used that giant briefing room they spent a fortune on

Whatafustercluck · 22/05/2024 17:53

Chely · 22/05/2024 17:20

He picked a lovely day for it 🌧

All as rubbish as eachother so don't give a f*

No, they're not. That's what 14 years of Tory incompetence has made people think.

Yellowhammer09 · 22/05/2024 17:53

I reckon Rishi wants the summer out of work off.

cornflakecrunchie · 22/05/2024 17:53

I guess he was trying to be helpful to the media & the public. Don't do it again, Rishi, waste of time. People these days don't seem to know how to behave.

ExtraOnions · 22/05/2024 17:54

£2.6 million they spent on that briefing room btw .. more waste

Boomer55 · 22/05/2024 17:54

Poor Sunak. He was getting drenched, standing there, with music drowning him out…😂

Yup, and not just incompetence but greed. What they've done to this country borders on criminal. At least Labour put taxes back into the economy not just find ways to siphon it to their mates.

The one where they laughed about socially distanced parties, while people died and their loved ones said goodbye via facetime you mean? I do hope people remember all the absolute shit they've presided over when they enter the voting booths.

Flowersfield · 22/05/2024 17:57

These Tories are on their way out and the Red Tories on the way in. Great news for everyone.

catlady7 · 22/05/2024 17:59

Will not be voting. All shit

WorriedMum14679 · 22/05/2024 18:04

I’m all supporting labour for many reasons but mostly because I’d like some integrity back in Downing Street. 14 years of lies and disgusting behaviour.

KimberleyClark · 22/05/2024 18:05

Great. Will be having a glass of wine in a minute.

KimberleyClark · 22/05/2024 18:06

Boomer55 · 22/05/2024 17:54

Poor Sunak. He was getting drenched, standing there, with music drowning him out…😂

The exit he deserved.

Wewelcomeyourfeedback · 22/05/2024 18:07

I can’t believe he’s called it so early, must just be fed up of politics! But I can’t wait to see the back of these privileged wankers

Pepsiisbetterthancoke · 22/05/2024 18:09

Someone in the Tory media team is obviously a Labour supporter after that. I mean who is advising him to go outside in the pissing rain when they know that people have been blaring music through speakers all afternoon

As much as I am happy it’s finally announced it’s annoying that it has pushed that liar Paula Vennells off the front page after day 1 of her testimony. Hope her next two days of lies gets more coverage

I'm getting on in years - I remember what a mess they made of the country in the past.

I’m getting on in years too and I remember 1997 to 2010 as the best government of my adult life.

But that isn't the Labour we are getting.

FluentRubyDog · 22/05/2024 18:10

Let the madness begin... don't get me wrong, can't wait for this lot to go, but can't help wondering what hypocrisies they'll be plastering on the busses this time.

user1471505494 · 22/05/2024 18:12

Heaven preserve us from Starmer and Rayner. If you think things are bad now Labour will make it worse

pointythings · 22/05/2024 18:14

Seems like some people on here were asleep between 1997 and 2010...

And no, it won't be like 1997 because this country has been left in a 1979 style state of shit - but at least there'll be a better direction of travel. It's going to take time, patience, common sense and hard work. These are not qualities the current crop of Tories possess and I hope they spend a solid two terms in the wilderness learning how to be a moderate, sensible, right of centre opposition.

BIossomtoes · 22/05/2024 18:14

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 22/05/2024 18:10

But that isn't the Labour we are getting.

It’s closer to that Labour than the current government.

Yes, mine too.

Lol
Nice try

Though I'll bite.
Why will it be worse?

Yes, I’ll admit to having some concerns over this. I’d be happier with Gordon Brown.
