Please help me!!! Urgent

Please help me!

I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks ago and this is a very very wanted baby. I've gone away for work to NI for the next 4 days and
I've just checked in and realised I've started bleeding. I've had 6 miscarriages and this is exactly how the others started.

I've spoken to the night receptionist and he didn't understand what I was saying, he asked me
If I needed more towels as I said 'I need some
Sanitary towels' he looked so embarrassed when I explained that I really needed some period pads, he said he'd speak to housekeeping but I've gone back to the room and realised that he probably means in the morning.

I have nothing to stem the flow at all's I didn't bring any sanitary towels or tampons.

I've got 4 pairs of pants 2 towels and the dressing gown on the bed but what the fuck do I? Nowhere is open now.

Do I go down to reception and ask for more towels? I'm going to ruin the bed and I just want to go home, tomorrow is going to be spent trying to sort out the meetings I'm here for as I'm a senior member of my organisation and I know I'm having a miscarriage and I will need to go home to seek help for it.

Or do I just apologise in the morning for the state of the bed?

This is so fucking shit

Cross post. I'm so pleased you've found help.
Very best wishes OP, I wish you a speedy journey home.

CountryMumof4 · 19/05/2024 23:54

Sending the most enormous of hugs. If you bleed through the pads quickly, call an ambulance or taxi and get to AnE quickly. I've miscarried several times, but the last was especially awful - I needed surgery and transfusions. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Xx

NinaGeiger · 19/05/2024 23:54

WELL DONE on going to bar and managing to get it sorted!

Just quickly, I think tampons are not recommended during a miscarriage as for some reason they increase the risk of infection?

Absolutely this - they aren't recommended at all x

ZeroOne · 19/05/2024 23:56

I’m glad you are getting sorted OP, your panic earlier was clear. It’s a horrible experience to go through. I’ll be thinking of you 💐 I imagine you don’t want to get checked out because the degree of blood loss is the norm for you but it would perhaps be a good thing to be seen ASAP anyway.

StartupRepair · 19/05/2024 23:57

So sorry OP. It is so damn hard, emotionally, physically and logistically.

justasking111 · 19/05/2024 23:57

I'm worried you might get dizzy, fall and hurt yourself. If you feel faint call for help

Thank you for the support!

So sorry you're going through this OP 💐

Just a thought if the sanitary towels don't cut it, and you have to deal with the man at reception again ask for some dressings from the first aid kit?

Do you have pain relief? Is there someone you can ring for support?

theprincessthepea · 19/05/2024 23:59

Sorry you are going through this.

Sounds like the receptionist needs to learn the different names for sanitary pads.

Im glad you’ve cancelled the meeting and hope you get the help you need x

BoundaryGirl3939 · 20/05/2024 00:01

I would speak to a manager in the hotel. Someone with good English. I would explain that I'm having a miscarriage, and that I need pads/towels etc. They will do their best.

Edited to say that I see you're sorted. How shit this happened to you, especially when you're away.

PennyPugwash · 20/05/2024 00:56

So sorry this is happening to you.
Just to say... please don't worry about work. Honestly, this is far more important.
Work can wait. Be gentle to yourself x

Fraaahnces · 20/05/2024 01:55

I’m sorry this is happening to you. Hopefully it’s a false alarm.

Howbizarre22 · 20/05/2024 02:37

You’ve handled this incredibly OP. What a harrowing set of circumstances.
im so so sorry for what’s happened. I hope you can get some serious rest and recovery now physically & emotionally ❤️‍🩹 🙏🏼

cerisepanther73 · 20/05/2024 03:57

You need to get a taxi and go to the hospital promto

I am susprised a hotel hasn't got emergency supplies of sanitary towels...

Dontjudgeme101 · 20/05/2024 04:09

So glad that you are sorted out now op. 💐💐💐

I went downstairs again and spoke to a bar man, explained what the issue was and that the reception man was useless. Bar man apologised a lot, then gave me 4 packs of period pads and 3 packs of tampons. Apparently reception man is new so I'm sorted now.

Thank you all so much for the virtual support. I will be going home tomorrow. I've emailed everyone and explained. I don't care what they think: they can speak to my colleague and ask any questions they have and they will sort it.

Thank you, I will be telling the hotel tomorrow about how lovely the bar man was

In so glad. I was about to get dressed and ring a taxi if you weren't sorted. Glad you're going home. I'm sorry this is happening. Please seek medical help if things are too bad xxc

FloofyBear · 20/05/2024 05:09

Oh goodness 🥺 I'm glad you're sorted for now but good you're going home asap. Work can cope! Good luck, I hope it's not another MC but if it is dont give up, many of us have had many MC but do get there in the end

Polishedshoesalways · 20/05/2024 05:58

Op, I hope you have managed to get some sleep. Are you flying back? Your work colleagues will cope. Just get yourself home safely. Monitor the bleeding, and then contact your GP for advice.

Londonrach1 · 20/05/2024 06:16

Glad you sorted. Sorry you going through this x
