People who play loud music in gardens at night are inconsiderate .

One of the few things I don’t like about longer days are people who think it’s ok to play loud (99.99999% likely it’s crap) music to 2-3am. Then sing like strangled cats

Zero consideration for those who need to get up early, the elderly, the sick, those with very young children etc.

Plus this party has at least ten 3-4 year olds screaming on the trampoline (no lights around it) now.

Gross. Who are these people? Put the kids to bed and shut up!

Is it a regular thing?

Wondering if you live near me or maybe this is just common but there's a house near me exactly like this, music till all hours people screaming and singing in the garden, kids shouting past midnight. Happens regularly a few times a month.

Hairspray123 · 18/05/2024 23:18

Sounds like some people i know, great when you are there in the party. But I would not want to live next to it. 100% NIMBY

Cherrysoup · 18/05/2024 23:19

Should be a criminal offence at any time of the day, frankly. It’s incredibly selfish and anti-social.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 18/05/2024 23:20

There are 3 year olds out screaming at 3 in the morning??

GlitteryUnicornSparkles · 18/05/2024 23:28

Sounds like 50% of my neighbours every weekend and Bank Holiday through summer! Nothing worse when you work bloody weekends.

Although that said I’ve been relaxing in the garden tonight and its been pretty quiet for a change, it was lovely! I don’t expect it’ll last long though sadly.

peterpiperpickedapeckofpickledpeppers · 18/05/2024 23:35

It depends on the music. What were they playing?

Whyhaveibeencutoutofmamsnot · 18/05/2024 23:37

I am in those groups listed elderly - work weekends sometimes have young children staying and can enjoy it when my neighbours have parties in the garden.
It is a sign that life is getting back to normal.
Perhaps I am lucky and can sleep through anything and had a noisy house when my children were little and they are good sleepers too.

Comedycook · 18/05/2024 23:39

A one off... annoying but I will tolerate, just about.

Regularly? Fuck right off!

Renamed · 18/05/2024 23:43

It so doesn’t depend on the music! Outside all day, or audible after 10 pm, or say 11.30 ish weekends, it’s bloody anti social. My main thought is never “I wouldn’t mind, if only it wasn’t Leonard Cohen”, it’s “SHUT THE FUCK UP”.

Just got back from a birthday party, I did wonder what the neighbours were thinking.

No only in the summer. Now have 6:30/7am starts to shifts 3 out of 5 days so means getting to bed earlier

Drives me mad! In our previous house, one of the neighbours used to have hot tub parties regularly in the summer, except you'd never know what night it was going to be! Often got woken up around 2 or 3am on a weekday by their drunken shouting.

Calliecarpa · 19/05/2024 06:27

I love summer, the warmth and the long light evenings, but one thing I do find difficult is that it's noisier than winter. There's a lot more people out and about late at night at this time of year than there are when it's dark and cold (for obvious reasons which I understand and sympathise with!). I can cope with neighbours playing loud music and shouting in the garden late at night if it's only an occasional thing, but if it's regular, it's hideously anti-social.

Pootlepins · 19/05/2024 06:33

YABU because you are moaning on here but doing nothing about it! Contact your Councils ASB team and start logging it.

SquashPenguin · 19/05/2024 06:45

Music any time of day in a garden is annoying as fuck. Why do people assume everyone else wants to listen to it. Use headphones.
